    1968 Mustang GT

Great looking Mustang. I think we all have had a few cars we which we had kept.
  2. Great looking color and the decals laid down nicely.
  3. The body work looks great. Blending the fade away fenders into the body can be a challenge.
  4. They both look great. The Karmann Ghia looks real clean and the Starliner has always been a favorite.
  5. Great looking builds. The paint treatment on the '58 Corvette is unusual and I like it and the '61 Impala.

Beautiful looking builds. The Motor Cycle looks real interesting. I've never built one but this one looks very enticing .
  7. This could be fun. You just don't see a lot of these kits done as anything but an early Chevrolet.
  8. Welcome to the forum. I echo Oldmopars suggestion on the Tamiya masking tape. I've always had my best luck using their tape and they offer many widths and it doesn't leave any adhesive residue. You have done some nice looking distressing of the exhaust and some of the frame, maybe add a little to the underside of the body. Your paint finish looks good and the assembly of the frame and suspension as well as the engine look very cleanly done. How do you plan to finish the chrome trim ? A suggestion if you're going to use Bare-Metal foil, they also make a gold colored foil that works great for the inert in the side trim. The finish is just a little bit shinier than the 1:1 but a very light brush coat of semi gloss paint tones it down.
  9. I can understand your feelings for the Miata but the rest of these cars have led a hard life also.
  10. The car is super cool and if only I could win the lottery it would be mine. As for the rear view mirror display , interesting but I question the day to day functionality. After having driven several Pontiac Grand Prix's with the factory Heads Up Display systems, in my mind this would take you line of sight to far away from the direction in which you're driving. The General Motors system was done much like a fighter jets heads up display. This projects the information on the windshield and the location of where it appears can be adjusted to the drivers preference. While this is an interesting and a far less complex way to do it, you're still going to have to take your eyes off the road to read it, not a good idea at any speed let alone what this vehicle is capable off.
  11. I'm going to want to watch whatever you do on this. I have a 1962 Lark (the license plate on the rear bumper says 1962) that I'm sure must be a JoHann. I bought it many years ago from an Estate Sale and it looks like a promo in construction and is molded in a light green color. I bought it assembled nothing else came along with it. I have put off doing anything with it not knowing what chassis to use and other projects have been of more interest. I plan to follow along on your build. The side view of this little Lark looks just like the picture of the black colored Lark in the picture from ChrisBcritter, cute handle.
  12. Very cool looking builds. I remember following the VW and Camper.
  13. Very impressive looking builds. I also like the Dick Landy rig. The Trans Am looks great also.
  14. For someone who professes to not knowing what they're doing this looks pretty advanced to me. I'm usually more of the "wing it" type builder. I'll enjoy seeing what all you do with this.
  15. I like the chopped top and wide whites look on this. One of my favorite kits.
  16. Great looking paint finish.
  17. Maybe only two builds but you have to look at the level of detail and the finish on them. I followed the Ford build and watched how you go about building your models. The day 2 Plymouth is the style I like.

Beautiful looking builds as always. I like the way your builds have colors that were very popular for them at the time the 1:1 would first come to market.
  19. $5700 seems a little steep to me even with all of the drive train work done. The Tin Worm has had it's way with the body and I'm sure the inner structure also. Still you have to wonder what could be.
  20. I agree with those who suggest doing what ever you want with it. The only thing I might add is to consider using it to cast a few Resin versions for future projects. These cars were very dominant in drag Racing at the time and building the Melrose Missile and others sounds great. This would also give you the option of a street car also. Please post pictures of what ever you do with this.
  21. 9 Decals ? Do you prefer to not clear over your decals ? Good to wait until you're well rested before doing decals since there is a lot that can go wrong with that. A suggestion to consider on the grill emblem. You may already be doing this so forgive me if you already have a technique you prefer. I'll use a #11 blade to remove the chrome plating only in the area that the decal is going. With the decal trimmed to where there is no extra decal film place it in the grill inset with a touch of Solvaset. Dab it dry with a paper towel. After it is completely dry lightly brush a drop of Tamiya X-22 Clear, when it dries it will look like the clear plastic cover on the 1:1 emblem.
  22. Just an idea. you're right about being easily identified. Maybe the roof from the '57 Ford wagon, that would still be in the same family. The roof has that distinct styling on top and the slanted pillar might work as the B Pillar.
  23. I don't know how it would look but think about the roof from the Revell '56 Chevy Nomad. The sloping B Pillar and side glass with the rear wrap around might work well with the lines of the Lincoln .
  24. Great looking little '57. With the Pro Street vibe I would pass on the door numbers, but it is your build after all. On the light bar in the grill, are you going to use the Chevrolet emblem decal ?
