  1. Hey Gary - it's good to see you're still building - haven't seen you since you left California.
  2. Take a look at the figure sources on my Resource page
  3. I'd read the reviews again if you're looking at bridge cameras!
  4. Bob understands - I recently bought a Canon G9 partially for it's close-up abilities, but for a lot of other reasons too. I use numerous cameras from day to day but you will probably be happiest with a bridge camera, like Bob's or a point 'n shoot llike some of the high end Canons that allow you to control the aperture for depth of field. A DSLR probably won't give you the results you want unless you have a good macro lens, like the Tamron 90mm f2.8. You will get greater depth of field easier with the aforementioned fixed lens camera types. You can also add close-up lenses to those to get as close as you want. Look at Canon G9, G10, S5is, SX10is, etc. - one of the desireable features on these is that they will take an external flash! If you understand photography this will make sense, if not you should learn the basics to make informed decisions.
  5. The pics are all there.
  6. I'll be there too! Looking forward to seeing lots of old friends and meeting new ones.
  7. Thanks for the update Tim - I'll have to give Rich a call. It's not just the West Coast publications that are shrinking, print media is slowly disappearing in general, it will be interesting to see who survives the next year. Source Interlink's stock hovers around .10 cents per share - that can't be good! Next time you're out here at Ford in Irvine let me know!
  8. I'll take a look at that, I run into Rich at shows all the time - any relation Tim? Here's the link to APG - a lot of ex Primedia folks there... http://www.apg-media.com/
  9. Nice! I've added you to my page of Aftermarket Resources.
  10. Sad News indeed - RIP Lee I met him in Birmingham in 2001.
  11. Hey Len those look great - but I've always seen the air intake in black...
  12. Nice Lyle! Here's a 1:1 for comparison on that body...
  13. A couple more with the top up...
  14. Yeah - how about a resin of this one...
  15. That image is from my albums and the engine is in a '57 Bel Air Convertible, the engines weren't yellow but Chartreuse, when this one was rebuilt they couldn't come up with a paint code so it ended up yellow. The 265s were left over '56 truck engines available in early '57s until the supply was exhausted. This was a very early build '57, first part of October '56 if I remember correctly, current owner is the second and has had it since '62!
  16. You can read everyone's opinion based on what they use or you can read professional evaluations on websites like... Digital Photography Review Steve's Digicams ...these are two of the best sources for info! You can read the reviews on your choice and draw your own conclusions. If you look under Reviews/Previews on dpreview.com they recently did a review of groups of cameras to answer the same questions you have. Good Luck!
  17. Have you considered talking to Goodguys to see if you could work with them on their Pacific Northwest Nationals show July 24-26 in Puyallup?
  18. Jody - Are you fluent in CAD programs? That is the real key to making the equipment functional, create the drawings for the projects and the machinery will cut it. A good friend of mine is an Architectural Model Builder and has used a laser cutter since they were first applied to this business. SJS used to make a Shasta trailer kit using this technology probably 10 or more years ago. Take a look at how the Model Railroad aftermarket has applied laser cutting technology. Good luck with this!
  19. Wow - I like that '60 Safari! Any other views?
  20. Reminds me of this '32...
  21. But I wanted the one-piece California bumper!
  22. Here's the pics, from 2006, in case the rest of you missed my post on that other board...
