  1. Excellent build ! Great weathering and detailing . Love the Flathead !
  2. Yeah , If you look at Randy's wip thread you will be inspired to do things you never dreamed of ! Of course actually doing them is another thing . The brass rods Art mentioned are the easiest to work with . Also most hobby shops have piano or music wire down to about .015" , it's a lot stiffer than brass but stays how you bend it . You also need a good set of wire cutters ( don't use sprue cutters ) .
  3. That's a very nice looking GTO ! Like every body has already said , the dusty - worn look is very realistic looking . I'd love to find a real one that looks like that ! And the interior detailing is excellent ! Congrats on your first build of 2013 !
  4. Very slick looking with that satin finish !
  5. I wonder if what you bought at Ace is really " Lacquer Thinner " or is it " Paint Thinner " ? There is a big difference !
  6. That is one beautiful Boss 302 ! Never seen one built that color before . Your detailing is fantastic , I'm going to study this for awhile . Thanks for the tip on the wheels , I never liked the ones in the Mach I kit .
  7. If they ever do get clogged with filler or putty try holding it over a candle for a few seconds and hit it with your wire brush .
  8. Any brand will do the job , just stay away from the $5.00 sets advertised everywhere , they won't last . I recently bought a set of Squadron files from my LHS for about $12 , 10 files in the set . I also keep a small wire brush handy to clean them regularly . The last set I bought lasted me almost 20 years , well worth the price !
  9. That's really nice ! The stance looks perfect .
  10. Excellent example of nice old kit ! A little wash will look good but leave the rest like it is .
  11. Looks good in green ! Gotta love those wheels and tires .
  12. Lookin' really good , Jonathan ! Nice work on the frame , it should be a hairy ride with 2 Hemi motors ! Your camera is a great tool ! Take pictures of everything you do and study the photos . You'll see stuff you never saw while building it !
  13. Very nice ! Great looking paint and engine details . Congratulations on you first post !

    1964 GTO

    She's a beauty !
  15. About 20 years ago while using a Dremel with a cutoff wheel on it , my little Yorkshire Terrier decide to jump on my lap ( completely unexpected ! ) . I won't get too gorey here but right now I'm looking at a scar that goes from the tip of my left thumb , under my nail , and along the top of my thumb for about an inch . To this day only one half of my thumbnail ever grows ! Pretty weird
  16. That is gorgeous ! Best retro - design of any car yet ! The E - type has always been one of the only British cars I've ever liked . Now , I need to build a 1/25th scale version .
  17. That's really nice ! Beautiful paint , stripes, and trim detail .
  18. They are both really nice ! Great to see a couple of sedans for a change .
  19. That's a cool picture Bruce . Look at all those Fords and Mercurys !
  20. Yeah , I spoke too soon . The last two tries it wouldn't post , just the green rectangle with 3 blinking squares ( Thinking ? ) This wouldn't post either ( 2 tries ) , I had to use " More Reply Options " to make it work .
  21. Beautiful Hudson ! Your paint and trim work look great !
  22. Wow ! I just replied to four different posts and it went thru the first time ! All four times ! And no clicking more options to do it ! It's going to take a little time to get used to this . Thank You Dave .
  23. That looks great ! And beautiful colors to boot . Nicely done , and welcome to the forum !
  24. Beautiful ! AMC's get no respect and Matadors are on the bottom of the list , but I think they look great !
  25. Very nicely done ! I have one and agree that it is about as perfect as a kit can get .
