Bill , First I want to say that the quote in my signature line was not meant to offend anyone . I understand how you can want a model as accurate as possible . When I added that to my signature line I was thinking of those who will comment on anothers build because it has a '70 grille on a '69 model .
That's what I consider a rivet counter , not someone who just wants an accurately molded '71 cuda ( me included ! ) .
I bought this a week ago at the auto parts store and it might be worth trying . I've done " Spoon " tests over lots of different paints and it hasn't affected any of them . I don't have any Alcad but I sprayed it on Spaz - Stix and it stayed bright and shiney ! It sprays very evenly and goes on very thin , it requires two coats for a nice shine .
You are correct Harry ! They are based on car frames and suspensions and were never desighed to haul a 1/2 ton load like a pickup truck .
Unfortunately one of the moderators doesn't agree and keeps moving them !
The PE saw blades work great for small cuts in tight places and for delicate work . Don't even think about making larger panel cuts , the blades are pretty flimsey and not designed for it .
In the " Tips, Tricks , and Tutorials " section , look for " Replacement Windshield Heat Formed " .
For some reason I can't link to it , but it's on the bottom of the second page .
One member of this forum did a nice tutorial using polyethelene soda bottles and a heat gun . It looked like it worked really great !
Some one should remember who it was .
Thanks for the " Thumbs Up ' guys ! It wasn't near as challenging as a nice car model , but the paint job got me motivated to finish it .
Austin - Sorry, no video , just these photos .
Tony , One of the nicest Chevelles posted here in a long time ! Beautiful paint and trim work .
Just a suggestion , If you open a Photobucket account ( free ) and post larger pictures , you will get a lot more replies !
This is an excellent idea for a new section . Keeping it voluntary and with a set list of questions is a must .
Along with the obvious modeling questions , a short biography would be interesting too . Although since most members won't even post their age it may not be answered much .
