  1. It is the Street Machine version . I just sold an unbuilt kit that had been taking up space for years ! Both versions are typical Monogram from the 70's . . . low parts count , few details , and way oversized even for 1/24th scale !

    67 CYCLONE

I have to agree . Somehow '67 Cyclones are always AWB Funny Cars ! It's good to see a street version done up as nice as yours .
  3. Very nice Alan . Those colors really look sharp ! Nice job with the BMF too .
  4. You and Steve are absolutely correct ! They weren't centered and did move rearward as the suspension was loaded . I'd like to apologize to Steve for my previous statement and implying that he was wrong . The problem with this kit is that the rear tires are shoved right up against the fenders and need to be moved back to even appear close to correct .
  5. Actually , in the photos the quality looks much better than I expected ! I think the little flowery things are suppossed to be little flowery things . Or some foreign object floating in the pool !

    Acid Bubble

Very cool VW ! Excellent work .
  7. That is amazing ! Love details , especially the lettering under the paint . Great model !
  8. Interesting idea , and it would look pretty sharp , but I'm not to sure about that tonneau cover thing .
  9. Definetly a cool kit ! Please take lots of pictures ! !
  10. So did mine . I removed the rear suspension ( with a screwdriver ) and glued it to the rear of the crossmember . If you look you can also see a piece of tubing added to the tranny . Harry - It's actually a dirty tan color , just looks white in the picture . Still not a factory color . Steve - With a transverse spring the suspension travel would be vertical , not fore and aft .
  11. The additions you made and your detailing are super ! I'm starting to like those Pegasus wheels , where did you get the 3-bar spinners ?
  12. Bill , I like both versions but have to go with the modern version . I like the Moon discs and wide whites too , so build it either way . In other words . . . I can't pick one so I'll pretend you didn't ask !
  13. I have to agree with the majority on this one . The older kits may have fewer parts and sometimes lack the details of modern kits , but in general they are more accurate scale models of the cars they represent . Besides , we all detail our models using aftermarket parts and scratch built pieces anyways . If any of you are interested , there is a site dedicated to vintage models of all makes and types , mainly autos and airplanes . Check it out ! www.retroscalemodeling.lefora.com
  14. I've had a few of these kits and have never built the stock " T " before , so I decided to take a break from my other builds and do a quicky . It took two days , with no extras , no wiring , just paint . I did experiment with some wood deck that I want to do on a future build . It's a pretty simple model , only 26 pieces not counting the wheels and tires . And since I know absolutely nothing about these cars there are probably things that aren't correct , but I had fun building it ! So if you see something let me know so I can fix it next time . Thanks for looking .
  15. Put a BIG smile on my face ! ! I'm probably the only one who loved that show ! Thanks for sharing it with us .
  16. Thanks Jason . Remember that $2.39 was the price in 1977 at a Kmart , and they were always priced lower than anyone else . Would you believe that I paid less than a dollar for the can of Pactra red spray paint ?
  17. This was taken in Wichita Falls , Texas . That's me at 5 years old , and the car is my dad's 1960 Dodge Phoenix convertible . The yard was typical back then !
  18. Lewis , I'm afraid the other models I've unpacked so far didn't survive as well as this one . It's going take some time to get them back into original condition . Still have a few to unpack , you never know . Greg , Thanks . I was really surprised when I opened the box and saw this one in such great shape ! It was packed in a bunch of toilet paper !
  19. Now that is the most beautiful Li'l Mixer I've ever seen ! ! Nice job Jason .
  20. Good Luck with that one ! Is that all you have ? I might have some spare parts if you need anything , let me know . I like your avatar , looks cool .
  21. Really great looking build ! I like what you've done with only a body to start with . Really like the doors and top .
  22. Beautiful car ! The trim work on the body looks great , the engine detailing is great , and the chassis looks great . It even has mirrors ! But the rear axle looks a little out of alignment , might just be the photo .
  23. This one is a mess ! The JoHan Petty Superbird built in '70 or '71 . Wrong color , straws for exhaust , aluminum foil on the firewall ? I'll rebuild it one day . And last is a kit I probably will never build . Purchased in the mid 80's , I'll wait for the reissue to build one .
  24. This is an MPC Petty Charger that I built in 1973 . I've taken it apart and started a rebuild using only the original parts .
