  1. The scallops look cool . Wasn't expecting that ! BOB .
  2. That is some MAJOR body modification going on ! When I saw the hole saws I thought "He's not going to . . " , but you did , and it worked ! Good job ! This is going to be an awesome build . Keep us posted .
  3. Ken , That's going to look great ! I've always wondered if any one would build Richard's winning car . Did you find decals for it ? Keep us updated . BOB .
  4. Wow ! I didn't know Modelhaus was making these ! It looks really decent . Another one added to my list .
  5. Very cool ! Looks perfect .
  6. That's a beauty ! ! Very nice build , and welcome to the forum .
  7. I'm really liking this , and it does look cool in white !
  8. You shouldn't be surprised ! Any subject done right is worth paying attention to , and your 50cc bike is being done right ! Your skill and attention to detail is amazing ! Please continue posting your builds and we will watch . BOB .
  9. Yep , this is going to look great ! I can see some big roadster wheels on the back , spokes in front , and something different for the engine ( with lots of green ) . What are your plans for a windsheild ?
  10. It's nice to see a '56 Ford . Too many Tri-Five Chevies . That's a nice looking body , is it AMT ? Love the paint and the wheels too !
  11. Pretty amazing work Brendan . That looks more difficult than building a 100 pt show car !
  12. Looking really good ! I hope my BMF turns out half that nice .
  13. They may be too long , but they look just fine ! Those PE wipers are too expensive and impossible to fold !
  14. More than likely you aren't doing anything wrong . It's the moisture in the air . High humidity is a problem because a lot of paints absorb moisture . This causes them to get a cloudy or milky appearance . Primers and lacquers are the worst . If you give it a day or more to dry or gas out completely , sometimes it will disappear and you will avoid having to strip the paint and start over . Good Luck .
  15. I guess I wasn't clear about what I'd like to do . I started a WIP a month ago . When I did an update a couple of weeks ago , I started a new thread instead of updating the original . Now anyone who views my post doesn't know how I started the build . I just want to get the original WIP linked to my current post . BOB.
  16. How do I add a link to a post I made a month or so ago ? Instead of Updating , I started a new one . Now all of the original photos are buried in history . I've seen links on other posts but can't figure out how to do it . Thanks. BOB.
  17. Thanks Joker . I take all my photos with no flash because it gives truer colors . For some reason the purple doesn't like the lighting inside . It looks much better in the natural lighting near my open garage door .
  18. Ian , I started with the AMT '57 Chrysler 300 kit . My original post is on page 9 or 10 of On The Workbench , dated April 2 . It will answer most of your questions . As for the 'cuda parts being 1/24 scale , the difference is less noticeable on smaller parts . With large parts like bodies , the size difference is obvious . Engines are usually almost the same size . Wheels and tires are only slightly larger . Think 16 " instead of 15 " diameters . Again , not really noticeable . BOB. The two seperate posts have been merged . Thanks Harry P.
  19. Nice looking '57 . I like the Bare Bones look .
  20. Very , Very Nice ! Can't say enough about the details . Great build !
  21. Absolutely , buy it ! I have one that is over 30 years old ( I bought it new ) and it still works better than any of the new guns I've tried . The gravity feed and HVLP guns are nice , but " Old Faithful " has never failed me . And rebuild kits are easy to find . When you say " Silly Money " , do you mean a good price ?
  22. These photos are closer to the true color . There's some dust in it , but that's no problem . By the way , this is my paint booth .
  23. Over the weekend I sprayed some color on everything . The body looks blue in the photo but it really is Purple ! I'm happy with the way it looks , so I'll let it dry a few days . Then I'm going to try the BMF again . After that I'll spray some clear onto it . The engine is installed in the chassis and looks good . Everything is close with the body on , but it fits . While test fitting the body I found a few issues . The inner fenders got trimmed a bit because they hit the upper control arms . The firewall was hitting the top of the floorboard so I trimmed the top about an 1/8 inch . All this got the body down on the frame where it belongs . I also removed the dash from the interior . It will be glued into the body after the windshield is lnstalled . This should eliminate any interference problems . Hopefully , by my next update it will be nearing completion . BOB. Any suggestions ? Thanks for looking . BOB.
  24. Nice job on the paint ! I like them both . . . but I've never been a fan of those pipes .
  25. I've been thinking about buying this kit for a long time and these are the first pics I've seen of one built OOB . You did a great job , and convinced me to buy one . Thanks .
