I have all 5 versions of those kits but never built one. I pulled one out and it appears you are correct. It looks like partial hinges are there in case you want to pose the model with the hood and truck open. Should not be too hard to fashion a hinge system for them. Should be some good info in the builders question section.

Thanks for the heads up but I have used the Short Cuts paint many times without a problem. Maybe due to using Duplicolor primer ?

Got the body painted today and also the engine is finished for the most part. I still need to decal and clear the body but I am trying to decide if I want to paint on some stripes or not. Leaning towards yes.

Found the kit I selected on ebay. I guess I will go with the red. It's not like I don't like the red I just don't like to do the same old same but in this case I think red would be best. Now, which red ?? : )
