Thank you, Jim! Bullybeef, all I did was mark a line at the bottom of the lower door hinge and remove what was below it...... I had to trim where the fender unit met the body, too.... It was about 3 scale inches.

I went ahead and painted the engine block for a couple of reasons. I wanted to see how this color would look, and I needed to test to see if spraying the aluminum paint over the orange would prevent bleed-thru....... Looks like it's gonna work. Thanks.........

Cool, I'm glad you guys are liking this...... I plan to try and seal the orange plastic with an aluminum paint, we'll see how well it works! Some more progress. The body and fender pieces have been sanded flat. There were some bad mold lines around the headlight area, so I sanded them down, too... I've also been working on getting rid of the molded in exhaust. I made some panels to hide it in the chassis rails...... I've got a good feeling about this project! Thanks......

I've been wanting to build a '40 Coupe for a while. It worked out where I could get this one in a trade..... So far what I've done is to remove a little from the bottom of the body so it would appear to be sectioned a bit. This is about all that I could lower this without raising the fenders. I've also lowered the suspension front and rear. Wheels and tires are from a 1/24 '56 Thunderbird. Hopefully I'll have more progress tomorrow....... Thanks for looking, and comment freely!

I got this '40 Ford in a trade with Casey. Been working on getting it like I want it to sit. I've "sectioned" the body piece some by removing about 4 scale inches from the bottom of it. Also lowered the suspension front and rear. Still need to cut up the hood, which I'll try to "pancake" while it's in pieces......

I'd fish off of that! I bet the steering wheel works the turning of the engine...... -

'34 Roadster Pickup
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I was looking at reference pics online, and realized that the '34 roadster pickup had a windshield frame that was separate from the body, so I removed the rest of the frame.... -
Hello, Guys.... While I'm waiting to get some paint for the Porsche, I'm fiddling with this little kit. This is an older issue, not sure which one. I had started another one of these some time back, but didn't like how it was going, so I boxed it up. I recently got this kit from a member here and kinda got a second chance with it........ The shortened bed and hood with the sides removed are from the first attempt. The cab was made into a roadster. Plan is to use the T-Bird engine. Paint will hopefully be bronze to go with the orange wheels..... So that's what I've been up to! Please feel free to comment and thanks for looking.........

You get to see the coolest stuff! (but never have any pics....... ) Just kidding. SoCal has always been and always will be the hot bed for anything automotive. I look at Craigslist in LA often for that very reason........ -

That's moving! Do they let more than one class of car on the 'Ring at the same time? They passed a couple of slower cars....... -
Kitbashing,,,
JollySipper replied to thomascoffey1959@gmail.com's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I thought kit bashing was going on a couple threads down...... My first major kitbash was this that I built of my Dad's Charger. I used the chassis and engine bay from the AMT '71 and the body from the '73/'74 superCharger. I've been at least changing wheels since........ -
Favorite Obscure or Discovered Music Album
JollySipper replied to afx's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
You guys should check out a band called Kanoo (I guess it's pronounced "canoe") on your music streaming services. It's instrumental prog rock. They have several single albums with usually three songs on them. They also do a cover of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" that is really good. Sorry I can't find anything on youtube of them...... -
Thanks, Mike! I think that when it comes time to fit this thing together, I'm going for a "one and done" deal.... There won't be much test fitting, I'll just wait until it's time for it to go together. Hopefully it won't bite me in the rump doing so.......

Hey, fellas..... Just wanted to show that I've got the body in primer. It hasn't been sanded yet, I want to wait until a day that I can actually paint before sanding, so everything is freshly clean... I did decide to blend in the rear wing, and it doesn't really pose a problem as to paint coverage......... Thanks!
