Fujimi Mad Police model kits. Post Apocalyptic Police!
Zarana-X replied to Zarana-X's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Mad Police Venus (Toyota Supra 1982-ish?) in progress The steering wheel broke, I will fix it when I add the driver figure in place. The black plastic on these kits are brittle, and I'm pretty sure this and the last Destroyer I built, the wheel snapped when I removed it from the sprue.- 38 replies

Meh Were you building it as the Walter Wolf blue one? A motorized 1/16 model is pretty much an accident looking for a place to happen. I motorized a few 1/24 Japanese kits as a kid, when they came with the motor. All of them had spectacular crashes.

I'm starting one of these right now. I had two at some point when I was a kid, and I happen to have the original Goodyear Wrangler tires I will be using instead of the blankwalls. First order of business was tossing the chrome wheels, air cleaner and intake into some Simple Green. These are the stock wheels, but they are white steelies. The air cleaner should be a light blue, and the intake bare aluminum. The valve cover is also aluminum. I plan on painting it, then wiping the paint off the lettering. Mods so far, I cut off the worst spare tire ever, and cut off the license plate mount, which will be recessed more. I replaced the gap in the frame and will mount one of the blankwalls as the spare.

Amazing work as usual. Your interior looks amazingly detailed. The body of these cars looks like someone got drunk and combined a Mini and an Anglia.

Are those runs in the decal lettering, or just a blurry pic? Could you let it cure for a few weeks then polish it out?- 39 replies

Looks showroom fresh! Few people tackle the fender welting, yours looks superb.

This is the old Imai 1/48 kit. I got the Monogram "Go-Bot Leader-1" version, but I know what it is now. I built this as a kid, before Season 3 of Robotech aired. It was the first mech/robot kit I ever built, and it came out awful. I painted it like the Go-Bot Boxart, and it had a lot of stuck joints, and later broke the hip joint. I later turned it into a wrecked plane in one of my primitive dioramas. Incidentally, I got it fully assembled now, just need some touch ups and detailing. Will probably start on the decals by this weekend. Oh, boy are there a lot of decals.

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD

Thanks. Initially, I lost the lens and left it as a broken headlight, but I found a headlight off a die-cast motorcycle and thought, "why not?" -

Where'd everyone go? Mad Police Venus (Toyota Supra 1982-ish?) in progress The steering wheel broke, I will fix it when I add the driver figure in place. I took some photos last Sunday, and then some last night. While building the legs, I attached the wrong calves to the wrong thigh, luckily I did one then started the other, so I noticed straight away. And I didn't use CA . I went back to the fuselage and boxed in some open areas so it wouldn't look hollow when I was done. Here's the body and arms laid out: legs, in progress: Boxing in the hollow-ish torso/fuselage:

What non-auto model did you get today?

I'll be very disappointed if that VF-1S/A Strike Valkyrie doesn't show up in the All The Rest sub-forum when you crack it open. -

Incredible work and photography. Looks like a real life car in quite a few shots!

Those wheels look great! I would reconsider, at least on the factory wing. When the manufacturer puts a wing like that on a car, or like the Impreza WRX, or Lancer EVO, its for a reason. Especially since you're puttin' a bigger turbo on it. These aren't Ford Contours. http://youtu.be/Vyau3VUVVtI?t=2m40s There's a Straight Six Community build, if you wan't to throw your hat into the ring
