  1. I knew they were molded in, so I wanted to see how you did yours. Those are the best I've seen! I made mine with the solid bezel, instead of the reflectors. I think I need to go back and fix mine, now. A lot of people just keep making it a solid red lens.
  2. That came out fantastic! How'd your taillights turn out?
  3. The side pods were an option on many older buggy bodies. They're mostly for style, so you don't have the backside of the fibreglass showing, but also served as a fender to some degree.
  4. This is 1/48th. It is an old Imai mold. There is a newer, non-transforming 1/72 version. Can't remember who made the new one.
  5. Great work. The dash attaching to the body, instead of the interior really complicates making the rollcage.
  6. These are kinda crappy photos, the batteries were about to die. I've got the cockpit/fuselage and Intake/shoulders pretty much under way and the head about 1/2 painted.
  7. 84 is also when they went to vertical tail lamps, instead of the horizontal lights on the valance.
  8. That's mindblowing. I wouldn't have the patience, or skill to make that look correct.
  9. Three steps in and I already screwed up. I had the nosecone/fuselage halves together, puttied and sanded the seam, then I noticed I had the front landing gear in backwards. Just like Chutes and Ladders. I fixed that and got some other sub-assemblies started. The amount of moving parts is going to make this a challenge nightmare. Looking forwards to lots of chips and retouching.
  10. I might actually get started this weekend. Hopefully, I can finish in time.
  11. I fixed up the Cadillac with new tires, and some junk in the backseat to make it more "lived in". I used the crappy microfigures from some old MPC Star Wars sets for dolls.
  12. It was giving me fits, Sunday. I just used Chrome to get the job done . The only reason I don't use Chrome full-time, is because I haven't figured out how to export all my favorites and shortcuts.
  13. Yes... . Where do you think I got the idea. This whole vehicle is literally being built from the junkpile, though.
  14. I see the sunroof, and the wind deflector. I'm talking about #9 in the bottom right corner. Looks too big for the stock instrument cluster:
  15. Decal sheet and instructions! decals are different from Destroyer, mainly the instrument cluster and star field/kill count.
  16. lastly, the front fender armor: Tyres, and electrical connctions in a lil' bag. I didn't get the motor, which both of my destroyer kits had. These old Japanese kits weren't sealed. I'm not sure if the seller, or sticky fingered kids from 30 years ago are to blame.
  17. Glass and lenses, dark as hell. Not sure what the big trapezoid is for, its not in the instructions, probably used on the stock Supra. Seats, rear interior and steering. Same as Destroyer. Figures, supercharger/blower, and headlight grilles from the other kits. (yay, extra parts!)
  18. Moving on to the dashboard and wheels. The dashboard and center console are different from the Destroyer. A nice surprise. This sprue contains the grille used on the Farcon, so its safe to assume it shares the same dash, while the Destroyer and Interceptor share theirs. Finally, a good look at the infamous swastika wheels. They are directional, so I don't think these are intended to be any kind of Nazi sympathiser wheels. The swastika was used by Buddihst and others before WWII ruined it for everyone.
  19. I've just acquired a Venus kit, no thanks to the guy who outbid me three months ago. Also no thanks to the guy who also outbid me on a Farcon kit from this same seller. This is for posterity, people! Holy Injection Pin, Batman! The frame looks the same as the Destroyer. Or is it? Side by side comparison with one of my Destroyer frames. The nose and tail end are different. Each car may have its own, similar, but unique frame?
  20. OK. here's finished 510. Dirty, and not so neat paint, like an amateur racecar.
  21. Narrowed the Chevy frame/base and rebuilt the firewall and transmission tunnel. Work so far:
  22. It's the '80's, man!
  23. It does kinda look like a drunk version of a Manx SR2. Like they couldn't get the rights, then remodeled it.
  24. The paint looks great. Not really feelin' the wheels. Look out of place to me.
