  1. Pant and flocking look fabulous!
  2. Usually between two and five.
  3. Ok, as promised, I've actually been doing something. Finished the rollcage and all the interior clutter. The dash is glued to the body, So I built half the cage in the car, and mounted the halo bar and a-pillar tubes to the roof. When combined it looks like a complete cage. I know, it's blurry. I took two pics and they were both blurry... With both halves together, I should pick up the pace on this build.
  4. That's probably a 75-77. My parents had a '72. Great little car. There was a Special Star Wars 1977 Celica given away as a contest prize. Its whereabouts/fate are unknown.
  5. The dash and paint is amazingly great. An original 6-volt car would have a black coil. The blue coils are 12 volt, the old 6 volt ones are black. '66 and earlier were 6 volt, your reference car was probably converted.
  6. I think he meant the dog's bollocks.
  7. The Monogram Roadrunner is a nice kit, other than the rear suspension & exhaust being one piece My eyes have been bothering me and I've had migranes. Haven't gotten anything done in a few weeks. I took pictures, though. Need to upload them...
  8. I'll admit, I've been slacking and haven't even started yet. I had another build I was trying to get in the final stages before I cracked open another one, but I Haven't done much with that either. The work you guys have been doing is incredible.
  9. That came out very nice. I wanted a Capri pretty bad in the early 90's. I never got one, and they're almost extinct in the US, now.
  10. Nice work so far. I had the yellow & black racing version of this tooling. I think it might have been the first issue.
  11. Nice work. I've been wanting to get his kit or the Aoshima version.
  12. That came out great, but I don't like those tires on anything.
  13. Yeah, that was the type IV engine used in 72 -82 transporters, the 411/412, and Porsche-VW 914.
  14. Nice kit. The 4 cam engine is super rare and outrageously expensive. Fun fact: Disney replaced the 1200cc VW engine in Herbie with the Porsche 1700cc engine for race scenes, That's why the exhaust on the Johnny Lightning Herbie is wonky, they were looking at pictures with the Porsche exhaust.
  15. I can't see any way to make that roof look good, especially where it joins to the body. I got one in an Ebay lot and its missing some velocity stacks and front suspension parts. For some reason, EVERY SINGLE PART was cut from the sprues. I've already used the wheels and tires on a 510. I'm probably gonna cut the floor out of the body and combine it with a Revell Sand Gypsy to make a decent buggy out of the two of them.
  16. Sweet! I remember seeing the Inch Pincher hauler for sale about 10 years ago. Not sure what happened to it.
  17. Yeah, that's a total bummer. Only 8 years older than me. I got to meet him, Hunter Jackson and Danielle Stamp in the early 90's. Awesome folks. Even though some of their antics grossed me out, it was all in fun.
  18. Nice work! makes me wish I had the money and patience for a resin kit. Coincidentally, it looks just like the last two I've seen. Saw one on an auto transporter in Fontana, and some guy in my city has one. Always see him in the early morning on the way to work.
  19. Nice work. The taillamps came out good. At first, I thought you were just sticking the stock housing on the c-pillar.
  20. Your best bet is to get one of the new Revell castings, the sedan or cabriolet. I've got the sedan, and its gorgeous. I've also got the Tamiya 66. If you get the convertible, you may as well just start over with that kit. It really puts how bad the old Revell kit into perspective. I've got a bunch of older VW kits, including this one. The engines are pretty bad, or vauge at least. The IMC one is a joke. If you need a good set of Webers, the old Tamiya Lamborghini Countach gives you 6, that's enough for 3 VW's. Here's two I put on a 2.3 Ford engine.
  21. Nice work. Paint and decals look great.
  22. There was something last week I was gonna buy...
  23. For 6 years, I drove this Black Volkswagen Squareback. Now I have a Tercel. Not as fun, but better mpg and less maintenance.
  24. Interesting, but you're just doubling up on the stereotypes about things catching on fire. Which Ferrari is that engine/trans from?
