  1. Cool work. I never got into Gundams because I only ever saw the original movie in Japanese, which is still confusing. The kits weren't readily availabe in the US back the. I do like the look of the older mechs vs. the newer ones, though.
  2. It quiets the voices. I'm not happy unless I'm building, drawing, working on something, or playing a game. I need to keep busy. I fall asleep watching tv 50% of the time, cause I'm not actively doing somethign.
  3. I've seen one or two of these recently in California. Or I saw the same one twice...
  4. I had this kit as a kid. Pretty cool, but I'm not sure how I destroyed it. I still have the wing and the engine block.
  5. The plastic was white, so I didn't prime. The blue is softening up, but not flaking/wiping off like the rest. Both white & blue are Krylon. I scratched some ridges in the blue, and it seems to be working.
  6. Here's what I got. Box is crushed, contents are fine, or appear to be. Probably get started the beginning of February. Wrapping up some other builds.
  7. This is why we can't have nice things... This is the mess I'm dealing with right now, after the masking tape came off. I've got the body soaking in Simple Green, but the blue is resistant. May have to get some dot3 from work and see how it likes those apples. I got the wheels and transaxle done. I'm gonna be using the stock wheels anyway, didn't have anything suitable that would fit in the stash. Engine is nearly done. I lost the oil filter and made one from sprue.
  8. It's hard to appreciate how big this thing is without the ground troops finished. At 1/48 scale this mecha is nearly a foot tall. That's pretty much it for this one. Will add some airbrushed weathering later, when all 3 are ready for it.
  9. I've got a 1/24 Escii kit. Their engine looks like an eraser compared to this.
  10. I actually like the tires you're using better. The tires it comes with look too narrow for how high it sits:
  11. Great work. You're making the rest of us look bad!
  12. These kits look great. Need to pick on up when I get the cash. The way it goes together it would be the best kit to make a baja from, too. (unlike the old Revell one I started then shelved 8 years ago)
  13. Looks great. Is this the 1/24 or the big one (1/16?)? Also, what body are you gonna put on it?
  14. I took some starting pictures of my kit. Try to get them uploaded this weekend.
  15. Is that the High Roller Camaro with different wheels?
  16. Apparently my camera sucks, and I suck at checking my email. Harry emailed me two weeks ago saying my photos are too low quality/resolution for print.
  17. Thats what I was trying to do. I should've stripped the paint in the first place, but I primered over the blue, then hit it with white again. After I painted the blue again, the masking tape messed up the second coat of white. Short cut turned into a long cut.
  18. I tried to redo the two tone paint, but I made a mess of it. Its sitting in "The Dip" now. I did get most of the engine done, but I lost the oil filter, may have to make one.
  19. I think Roadkill has the same idea as me, (small, agile, dodging traffic) except I'll have room for supplies and spares. Which engine is in that Stratos? I forgot what the options were.
  20. I bought it intending to paint it like the box art, but it comes with a sicker sheet, instead of decals. I'm not using stickers on a model, so I went with a different color. I just got Revell's snaptite Humvee, since its the only way to get it in 1/24, and it comes with stickers, too. Is this the current trend? how are kids going to learn how to apply decals if you give them stickers?
  21. The gunmetal looks thin enough it might polish off the unwanted area. I used Nick's clear coat masking trick the last time I did a two-tone paint job and it works great.
  22. Crazy, man. Do you plan to make them transfromable, or just static battle modes? I'd thought about making the 57 Chevy myself. The gullwing mod looks awesome so far.
  23. Nice build. I've alwasy liked the way Vegas looked, even if they're rusty & slow. The story was believable up until the Vegas were destroyed, They would most likely be sold off or auctioned.
  24. I have a group of Robotech Defender Models I'm going to be rebuilding into their properly colored Dougram mechs. I built all of these as a teenager in the late '80's. Background story; Revell was planning to sell imported mecha kits from various Japanese properties under the Robotech name. Around the same time, Harmony Gold was working on translating and combining Macross, Calvary of the Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada into one, "cohesive" story. They came up with the name Robotech, but was already copywrigted by Revell, Revell had Macross models in their line up, so a licensing agreement was reached for Harmony Gold to use the name. Revell would later release Macross models from the Robotech using their proper names. The Defender models I have are from the anime series, Dougram: Fang of the Sun, The large mechs are 1/48 scale. I have some smaller ones in 1/72 I will get to last. First up is my Blockhead T10B, Revell called it Talos. I suck at progress photos, but this started off with airbrushed camo, over hand painted camo, and lots of visible seams. The Blockhead is the largest mech on the left. After some work:
