  1. I don't see how the lowrider, or tuning version of this kit got approved. As for the real cars, my sister in law had one when we were teenagers, and my best friends grandma had one. I don't remember problems with either of them. The grandmother's car was still immaculate until she was no longer able to drive. (about 1993)
  2. Excellent! Has a great retro-futuristic vibe, like a car that could have been in the original Total Recall, or something.
  3. I don't know how I'd feel about that wheel inches in front of my crotch.
  4. I think on one hand, the term Tuner is a stereotype of stickers, questionable body mods and ugly wings of the late 90's. Additionally, just like real car shows, there are the "old guys" who hate "foreign jap-BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH", or anything foreign. I think they could just do an Import Class, because there is a huge variety of European, American, and Japanese cars that don't adhere to the Tuner style anyway.
  5. It looks like he wiped a booger on the Jeep.
  6. I think I've seen that Jeep somewhere before.
  7. Hot BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH! Awesome work, very lifelike.
  8. Nice work. I bet you couldn't even give that Cadillac away, though.
  9. That would be like trying to turn a Beetle into a Citroen 2CV. The Isuzu Impulse is quite a bit bigger than a Suzuki Swift.
  10. I've built quite a few. I don't mind the lack of engine detail, because once my models are built, I generally don't go looking in the engine bay anyway.
  11. The Fujimi Driver figures set is pretty good. There is a regular male and female driver, as well as a race driver with different head options, as well as a trophy girl. There is an no-helmet head for the race guy, so it shouldn't be too hard to make him a normal clothed driver. The Fujimi Mechanic set has a hunched over guy, and a sitting guy that could be re-worked.
  12. Fabulous work on everything, including photography. Good use of the "campus friends".
  13. Great work all around, but I think your dumpster could use the slots where the trucks lift them:
  14. Looking good. Needs the velocity stacks and off-road lights to make it complete.
  15. I'd be interested in making my own decals if I knew what I was doing and had a printer. From the kit decals I'd 2nd the irregular scale of license plates. Older AMT decals are ridiculously thick and won't conform to any curvature.
  16. That came out great! I believe I have that car in GT4.
  17. That's a hell of a haul! Did you pay $710 for all those? (5x142) I rarely have more than $20 on me at any time. After those 3 Hasegawa VW kits, I'd have a hard time choosing a fourth. Lots of good stuff here. The only model stuff I've found at yard sale was a guy selling a bunch of wheel sets for .50 cents a set. He didn't have any kits he would sell.
  18. Interesting. I love the way you take random, everyday objects and make them disappear into your builds.
  19. I've seen that fool. I'm pretty sure the parts are from the Tuner version. Somebody is also selling nearly all the parts form the old Monogram 720 pickup, and the Revell 620 pickups. Like, nearly complete kits, but as individual pieces.
  20. Here's my start. Got the wheels done and doing some body mods, and cleaning up the headlight and hood panel lines.
  21. What sorcery is this? That looks like a real, life-size engine!
  22. Nice Bronco. is that an old Monogram mold? The details and pushbar look a lot like the F bodied Monster Truck, Krusher. DUH! Just answered my own question finding the picture above...
  23. Old school! Before fibreglass bodies were popular, most were made this way. Several of the buggies in "The Road Warrior" started out like this.
