That looks fantastic. If I just saw a picture, I would think it was a Fathead, or something.

It's quiet at work, so here goes: "The stench of humans rotting, smells just like fish fillet your sign neglects to mention, 50,000 starved today." "Evolution is a process, too slow to save my soul But I've got this creature on my back, and it just wont let go." "Television, the idiot tube, helps to raise our children as fools Watch the news, see what they want you to see Our awareness is limited by network VPs."

Looking good. It's amazing how small a rotary engine is, but they're pretty much solid metal; you don't have a big open cavern with the crank and rods flailing around, so it's also amazing how heavy they are.

Brush Painted Bodies
Zarana-X replied to JunkPile's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When I was a kid, I remember brush painting stripes and some hoods, and they looked like they were brush painted when I was done. I think the worst thing that I ever painted was a Shelby GT 350 Mustang. I was trying to make a "Twisted Sister" car for some reason. I couldn't find any pink paint, so I brush painted the thing with hot pink nail polish. The nail polish melted the plastic a bit, so it ended up with an interesting texture. -
Olivia Newton-John? Nevermind, I was thinking of "Have You Ever Been Mellow", never heard of these cats.

Channel locks and pliers have always been my go-to. Sometimes prying the edge of the lid with a small flathead screwdriver. I'll try the wax paper first, since I have an abundance of it.

Toyota TE27 Levin Fujimi Vintage Japan Car

Nicely done. I have a scar on my right leg that will always remind me of the TE27... -
No intrest in Sport Sedans ?

The only 4-door kits from American companies I can think of are police cars. -
If this is still rolling, I'll join in with Untouched as of yet. Probably build it stock, which means alot of de-chroming.

I'll join in with this, I just bought (exchanged a chincy RC helicopter from Christmas) All I've done is spray the floor pan grey-blue and paint prep the body. Probably going to be stock, buyt I'd like to get some nice wheels for it. (I've also got two MKII Supras, but they're both curbside)

Got some pretty good progress done this weekend. I'm overdue for new pics, but I have to charge the batteries first, and I always forget to do that beforehand. So many seams to fill... . Building an articulated mech is one thing, a multi-colored transforming mech is a nightmare. (I have at least 4 more in my stash) So many moving parts. If I wan't trying to do a good job, I'd be done, but I want to do this justice, even though it will be weathered to cover up what sins I can. The arms are pretty much finished except for some touch ups, started on the legs. Oh, and the decal sheet...its old, I sprayed it with clearcoat just to be safe, even though it looks new. (it was sealed in its own bag!) I need to put some decals on the landing gear I won't be able to after the legs are assembled.

Looks great! I don't think anyone would lay their hood on the ground and against the car like that in real life. Not with nice paint, anyway. Maybe make a blanket, and put it on the roof of the Bluebird?

Look at the big lug pattern on those wheels. This is either being transported, stored or serviced with the monster tires off.
-
Excellent! This is exactly what I pictured from your title.

They all look great. Love the Jagermiester bus.

Amazing work! The rusty chrome is very life-like. Nice use of the Lego teddy bear...

That Escort looks cool as hell, but putting alloy wheels that probably weigh, like 5 pounds might raise some flags.

Henry J Twin Turbo - Didn't see that coming..........

Mr. Obsessive's "New" Obsession! :)
Zarana-X replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Very nice. This is the best "retro-styled" car. They got it right. Good call passing on those Nissans. The Rogue and Altima both use a CVT transmission that's pretty buggy, after about 3-4 hours of driving it overheats, goes into "limp mode" limits the revs, and wont go over 35 MPH. It will keep acting buggy, until it sits long enough to totally cool off. They wont recall it, because no service dept is going to drive it long enough to replicate the problem. -
Where are the new Volkswagen models?
Zarana-X replied to red04gli's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Fixed. Type 3 Ghia. Not sold in the US cause it would "confuse" people with two Karmann Ghia offerings. And It looked too much like a Corvair... -
What kits are you hunting for 2015
Zarana-X replied to Twokidsnosleep's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've got more kits than I could build in the foreseeable future. I've been looking at Monogram's 69 Camaro kits to rebuild my High Roller, ane then use the damaged body to make a PA/Wasteland car. Also been looking at their 3-n-1 Camaro and Firebird kits, I have some bad ideas for those, as well. Other than that, any VW, Datsun-Nissan, Toyota or mini trucks I come across. -
Hmm. Depends what shortcuts they take. On the real one, only the engine block is the same. The cooling fan, intake, transmission and all of the supsension on a bus is unique to them.

Why are some cars 1/25, and some 1/24?... What's up with that? I thought 1/25 was done for.
