As a kid, I had two of these, so I used those Goodyear tires instead of the new blanks. I drilled out the divots, cause they're supposed to be full round holes. Blurry front: Rear and spare: I wanted to paint this a stock looking light blue metallic, but I also want to use the decals, and I don't think the colors of the stripes would look good on light blue, so I went dark. You can see the interior tub in the background painted the base color, I will be adding some med blue as the fabric part of the door panels and seats. That's two coats of warmed up Testors dark blue metallic spray paint. came out nice and (relatively) smooth. not going to polish this, cause I'm going for a stock-ish build.

AMT 1940 Ford old old old kit on ebay
Zarana-X replied to Stray's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That things been re-issued a number of times. Just get a different one. I know they changed the decals, but hey. Here's mine from the mid 80's release. Not used, complete Pontiac engine with exhaust, drag decals, extra set of tires, two extra sets of wheels, roll bar, custom bumpers, etc. AMT 3-n-1 kits are a trove of extra parts. -
New Mad Max Film
Zarana-X replied to 72 Charger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Everything from Fury Road is so wildly modified, I don't think it would be feasible for a manufacturer to make new kits. The only ones plausible are the silver Falcon, the old sedan monster truck and maybe the twin engined 32. -
It's the Future! - 1982 DMC Delorean Time Machine - B.T.T.F.

Very nice detailing work! I've built the Aoishima/Amt kit. i would't have guessed this was a snap kit, at least until I saw the bottom of the chassis. Not to nitpick, but the vents at the back of the quarter panel windows should be black. I'm sure with everything else going on it was an oversight- 37 replies

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Zarana-X replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
No, they're directional, so one side goes one way, and the other side goes another. The Farcon (Nissan Lepeoard) has the same wheels. I think they're Buddhists. The only modes I did are: shifter, e-brake, center gauge decals, side mirrors from an Academy Le Mons, replaced the gun hole thingys in the side armor, and I used the clear police lights from this kit: I was going to use the door panels from this kit, but I plan on building it, so I started to make some from card stock, but then decided the windows are so (Flander's voice) *gosh dang* dark, you can't see them anyway.... I was going to rob this kit for the mirrors and wing too, they're relatively cheap, If I didn't get the actual Venus kit, I was just going to use this kit and make a replica like I did with the Trans Am. -
Nice job converting this. Especially on the 2jz engine swap. Anyone else would just stuff a big V8 in there, yell "Yee-Haw!" and call it good. As far as the window pillar, if you remove that, you'll lose the rear pop-out window function, and it will get hot as hell without the AC on. You'll have a big greenhouse with only door windows that roll down.

Nice job. I built one of these when I was a kid. Yours looks like its missing the strut brace, though.

That's a pretty neat car, be a shame if something were to happen to it. I had to re-read your description. I was picturing the racers hitting each other with croquet mallets.

That's a beautiful RX-7. I like the garage, too. I think the bricks may be a little too clean and shiny, though.

Chevy Nova "Beverly Hills Cop" Revell 1/25
Zarana-X replied to TROOPERFRANCO's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I had to go back and look for it. Where it is at, I'd just sand it off. That area of the car would surely be covered in dirt, mud or rust anyway. -

Mad Police Venus / MKII Supra pretty much finished. Needs some weathering, but don't want to overdo it. -

That's turning out beautifully, well, beautiful work I mean. -
Arrrgh. Testors paint.
Zarana-X replied to Mikevango's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Make them exchange it. I always do a test spray on a nearby trashcan or someone before I aim it at the model. -
I listen to a lot of old punk, ska, metal, goth and thrash. So its kind of a genre thing. This is a Japanese group that is a mash up of Idol pop and metal. I like it.

That came out very nice. I've heard of two in the US, one in Arizona, and the other in Hollywood area. FYI, to everyone that asked: Japan required mirrors mounted forward on the fenders until 1984. The reasoning was you could use them with out taking your eyes off the road...

Nice work. The other guy kinda looks like Lee Majors.

Judas Priest - You've Got Another Thing Coming. I used to work with a guy who sang in a Judas Priest tribute band, Painkiller.

Motley Crue - Home Sweet Home I bought this album when it came out. This album coupled with Bon Jovi's Slippery When Wet, Poison and Def Leppard was the beginning of the end. ^ I would've done Multi-quote for this, but I keep messing it up...

Sound like the intro music on "Viva La Bam" show. So I think it's either Bam or CKY.
