I remember an article not too many years ago where a guy had Crower system in a 66-7 chevy II, he said one of the main reasons for his street ability was the Crower design put the butterflies like 8" away from the cylinder head, meaning much less heat to enlarge the bores around the butterflies..

  5. i love a good 49-51 merc / ford build... never liked the term "shoe boxes" though... i seem to get bogged down on the frame/suspension portion and... back in the box it goes! loving what im seeing i vote for long flowing skirts

  11. very cool! in 1978 i bought a tempest convert with the 4 and a manual transmission the price? 35.00 drug it home, kept the trans, associated rear axle parts, bellhousing etc has aspirations of a rear-engined bird cage wonder... NEVER happened.....

  13. excellent! love it ALL my father showed up at my house when i was like 33-4 with a L-89 corvette conv. he said "i never bought you nothing cool when you were a kid, how bout this?" your engine reminded me of that day.

  20. This is great! back in like '70-71, my mother got my father the Shelby Drag Team kits for his b Day.. he straight axled' it in no time.. I found it not too long in a box, I started re assembling it, not re doing it, i didnt post it for fear of retribution! May I HI JACK this thread with a pic soon?
