  1. 3 Amigos just issued those decals! I have a set on the way to me now.
  2. Mark, as you assemble the air ducting on top of the engine, I would HIGHLY recommend using plastic welder to glue the unpainted parts, and then paint them when that's done. Tolerances under there are tight and you want that assembly to be as strong as possible as you wedge it into place. It's easy to do once you've done a couple but with my first one I had that assembly fall apart the first time I assembled it because I painted the parts first. Just a heads-up. Also, I've used those add on parts from Jay's stock cars in the past and they are superb.
  3. I built this one a long time ago, I wish I knew about the trick for moving up the front bumper. Might have to buy the new reissue and build another version. I like the kit overall, the proportions are satisfyingly chunky.
  4. Yes, I've painted all of mine semi-gloss black.
  5. That's coming together very well. I've found that I have to assemble the suspension bits unpainted, using plastic welder, in order to get everything solidly attached. Same for the bumper pads like you've done. Excellent work!
  6. I have a Revell of Germany version on the way, shipped from a US seller, so I will report on the condition of the A-Pillars when it comes in.
  7. Has anyone got one of these kits in the Revell Germany packaging to see if they also have the A Pillar issue?
  8. Jim mentioned on Jay Savarese's build that he'll be making an adjustment on the spoiler to move it to a more upright position and reduce the height before it goes to full production.
  9. Always bugged me that they pretended that was real when they rigged it to fall off lol.
  10. Also, there are 3D printed resin bodies for the Mustang that will be available in the near future. The provider is temporarily not making them due to an impeding addition to the family, but when that's been sorted the bodies will likely come out later this year.
  11. And a huge part of that is because the molds are inaccessible right now, being in China. Revell Germany did not get the Gen6 molds when they took over the rest of the company. If they had I'm sure Salvino's would have worked to get the molds. It doesn't make a lot of financial sense to pay for new molds of the Gen 6 when the Gen 7 is now out. If somehow the molds of the Gen 6 resurface and are made available, Salvino's will try to get them.
  12. I'm really excited for the '71 Olds and the Torino Cobra. I've been looking for one of the latter for a very long time.
  13. Hit the body with a base coat of silver and you'll have no issues with color bleedthrough.
  14. Revell Germany boxing.
  15. Paint is Tamiya British Racing Green, with Zero Paints Ochre for the interior. Had a little trouble with the width of the bonnet, on the other side it's fine but there's a gap on the driver's side. Very enjoyable kit to build but it's small size in 1/25 made it tricky at times. Perhaps the most beautiful car ever made.
  16. While I'd love a Vista Cruiser, I can't see a station wagon selling enough to make the tooling investment worthwhile. But what do I know.
  17. I was falling into this trap as well, then decided I was only going to build for myself and for the shelf (ie not perfect and not super-detailed). It was hard at first but now I'm happy I let go of the anxiety of feeling my kits weren't good enough. They're great to me.
  18. This is one of Revell's very best efforts and I'm glad to see it again. I built a yellow version of the original, will likely pick another up to do in a different color. It's a fantastic kit.
  19. I'm no expert but I believe you can. IIRC the chassis for the Gen 7 cars all come from a single supplier, so with different bodies and engines you could build a Ford or Toyota.
  20. The car featured in the climatic scene from the movie. It was a Taurus, not sure why all the diecasts were Chevies but the movie shows it clearly as a Ford Taurus. Decals by 3 Amigos, on the Revell kit.
  21. They've said that number placement isn't permanent and hasn't been set for next year.
  22. Decals by 3 Amigos, Tamiya AS-21 Dark Green paint.
  23. MCW used to offer this body for a NASCAR build but it appears to be no longer available.
  24. Currently the only way to build a Camaro is with a resin body; there is a pent-up demand and desire for a Camaro plastic kit even with the change coming next year. I think these kits will be very successful for them.
  25. I've been wanting to build this car for a very long time. This is the famous Warthog. This is built using an upcoming 3 Amigos decal sheet. I used a Powerslide resin Camaro body on a modified Revell Gen6 snap chassis. The paint is Testor's Dark Ghost Grey. All the graphics, including the innumerable rivets, are on the very large decal sheet. The shark mouth is comprised of 13 separate decals. The neon roof number is made from three layers of decals. I'm thrilled with the way this model came out.
