  1. Be the kind of person who stands up for what you believe in, and not someone who just parrots the dogma du jour.
  2. Dinner is whenever you get off your big fat inertia and make it.
  3. "Adorable" covers a lot of cute little critters, but lotsa other critters see them and think "lunch".
  4. Glad somebody has finally addressed the problem of storing kids efficiently.
  5. I've seen Hueys hurt almost that bad flying again in less than 30 days. Don't despair. She'll be fine.
  6. Past a certain point, the plastic becomes permanently softened, and there's really nothing you can do but fabricate new rims or replace them. For everything previously posted here on the subject, search google: tire melt site:www.modelcarsmag.com
  7. It's a '57 Spohn. Maybe Spawn would suit it better. https://www.story-cars.com/1957-spohn-convertible
  8. Hippopotami should be seen and not herded. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/how-the-us-almost-became-a-nation-of-hippo-ranchers-180982244/
  9. Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail made a delicious rabbit stew.
  10. Music is just noise to an unfortunate few.
  11. Oxidation of ferrous metals is called rust.
  12. Another day, another nickel...
  13. You gotta do what you gotta do to keep things running smoothly. I'm sure everyone will appreciate the work you'll be putting in and forego whining about their inconvenience.
  14. Maybe not the meanest, but certainly among the most unpleasant, with its Predator face... The way you meant it...
  15. Bet you can't eat just one.
  16. Yup. Or even plain old 1-part lacquer clear. That's the safest way to handle metallics or pearls that blush, too. No chance of getting blotches from overly aggressive sanding or polishing disturbing / unevenly uncovering the metallic particles.
  17. Tight spandex was never intended to be worn by hippopotami.
  18. "Night time is the right time."
  19. Last night at this time it seems like it was about this time.
  20. That is really nice. Makes me want to build something like it in 1/87 (HO) scale, maybe using an old truck cab to backdate the look to something that could have been cobbled up in the late '50s. Inspirational.
  21. Working like a champ for me now. Bizarre...
  22. Great news...apparently all the problems were the fault of the little delivery trucks they've been using, so this piece of collaborative genius, obviously inspired by experimental '70s crash-'em-smash-'em safety vehicles, will fix everything...and the 106,000 or 150,000 vehicles (depending on who your web source is) will only end up costing somewhere between 6 and about 11 billion dollars (depending on who your web source is). What a deal. PS: Please note that putting TWO warning stickers on the slippery rear bumper was deemed to be better than providing a non-slip surface...among other interesting engineering decisions regarding interior lighting, charging of the EV versions, etc.
  23. "Mountain" is a generic common name given to steam locomotives having a 4-8-2 wheel arrangement.
  24. Lincoln forum topic: https://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?t=837 Quoting last post in the thread: "1965 engines were painted black, and most likely a gloss black. This includes the air cleaner, block, heads, intake, oil pan, valve covers, fan blade, expansion tank, timing chain cover, and possibly other pieces. The exhaust manifolds however, were left unpainted." More Lincoln forum: https://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?t=47035 Quoting: " Black block valve covers, air cleaner, etc. No blue under the hood in a 65." "All blue 65s are wrong. Changed by a previous owner. The correct factory color is black. The rest of the engine bay is body color as they have been since 1958 (although engines were not necc. black before 1961 - I'm not sure about pre-61). Starting in 1966 is when Ford started painting their engines and air cleaners blue." ..."a lot of people are someow compelled to paint them old ford blue. As Dans says, that started in 66. If you look at any of the show cars, you'll find they have black engines. As you said, you will find a lot painted blue and other colors, but those are mods made by previous owners either by lack of knowledge or personal preference for another color over originality."
  25. "Is" doesn't mean the same thing to everyone, ya know?
