Source for a 1931 Ford Roadster?
Ace-Garageguy replied to Andrew McD's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Pretty much, all minor, especially roadsters. Differences between '30 and '31. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/30-31-model-a-differences.352181/ -
Yup. Sitz nize.

"Confused" isn't a desirable trait in a president (of anything: country, company, or model car club so let's not make this political).

Me too. And all my machines run Windows. ?

The best scale representation of this iconic car I've seen to date.

And I've met people (yes, more than one) who will argue the Sun is not a star, because "it's, like, you know, the SUN!!!"

Either a charming master-stroke of self-deprecating humor...or just pathetic.

Defies logic, too. It's a fairly well equipped shop...Mig and oxyacetylene welding rigs, a sheetmetal brake, bandsaw, cutoff saw, drill press, Bridgeport mill (mine), plenty of vises, clamps, and just about everything you'd need to do average fabrication work...plus a decent stock of sheet steel and tube. Still, the thing he made looked like something you'd find after a bomb went off. Double scary part is that the shop manager didn't realize we couldn't let something like that out the door, even if it had actually functioned...especially on a pretty expensive vintage 1st gen Bronco (the crossmember was for a C6 conversion). Good news is that they trust my judgement, so I raised hello, took the job over and did it right. That was 2019. It's still on the road.

In case anybody needed more proof...

Apparently some have misunderstood this and have tried to make it something it's most definitely not. For everybody's Information, as opposed to FYI Geez. -

Questions for anyone familiar with CA smog laws
Ace-Garageguy replied to Draggon's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Just a thought...and I don't know what Cali's vehicle insurance laws are...but occasionally I'll have to drive one of mine with an expired tag to road-test, or get the computer to set enough codes to diagnose a problem after the battery has been disconnected. It just doesn't make sense to keep all my cars tagged when they're inop, but prior to testing, I go online and add whatever it is to my insurance policy. In my state, they'll usually let you slide if you're legitimately "testing" or "diagnosing" on an expired tag, BUT IF THERE'S NO INSURANCE, THEY'LL IMPOUND THE CAR AND TAKE YOU TO JAIL. -
? About 25 T lincoln engine
Ace-Garageguy replied to mnwildpunk's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Except the rocker covers look nothing at all like MEL rocker covers, which have multiple perimeter hold-down bolts. The rocker covers in the kit very obviously represent the OEM alloy parts on the '56-'57 Continental, which is a rear-distributor 368 Lincoln Y-block, pre-MEL, and the rocker covers can not be bolted to the MEL. Granted the rest of the engine is MEL-ish, but why the totally wrong and very distinctive rocker covers? EDIT: And I completely missed the angle-drive mag years ago when I first started looking at this kit as a possible powerplant donor for a Lincoln Y-block 368, to go in a Mercury Mermaid...so my bad on that.
