As a counterpoint, I didn't exist in 1969. I don't have that same nostalgia so while I enjoy the aesthetics of old cars improving some aspects doesn't ruin the experience for me. Especially if it's not a particularly valuable version I'd rather see something done with it than it not get preserved at all.

Yep, that's the same car I saw too.

I found pics of the actual cars engine, I just didn't know if it was supposed to have something crazy in the movie that was talked about but never shown.

I couldn't find any stills from the movie of the engine of the GTX so I imagine it will probably be the same as the previous issues. There are a few options out there if you want something more modern.

'Mad Mike' Hughes killed in homemade rocket crash
Fat Brian replied to Mike C's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
What the actual f***? I'm sure this will turn into some conspiracy where the government shot him down to protect the "globe lie". -
mobeius trailer
Fat Brian replied to blackbeard's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
There hasn't been any talk of a lowboy being in the works, Moebius is pretty good about giving previews of what they're working on. -
I can't image the won't do the 68 again, that would defeat the point of making a tool with multiple versions.
-
Wow, that GTX is awesome and they went to the trouble of making bigger rear wheels.

How to plumb turbos ?
Fat Brian replied to Ctmodeler's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Something to think about when plumbing a twin turbo setup on a V style engine is that some turbos come in "right side" and "left side" versions (basically a mirror image) and some don't. With the mirrored setup both sides will be pretty much the same but when using two of the same turbos you'll have to clock them a little differently to get the inlets and outlets pointed in the right direction. This is a mirrored setup This is two of the same turbo and the plumbing is different -

Maybe someone can scan it for you now that they know where to look. -

Best I could find is that it's in the 2000 Car Modeler annual magazine. -
In search of 4x4 conversion for Revell 97 F150
Fat Brian replied to Toast's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
This is your best bet for a stock 4x4 conversion OP, these kits should be fairly cheap too. -
I laughed more than I should have at that, congratulations.

The fender flares look stock too instead of the Bushwhacker style with the exposed bolts.

Single Carb Boss 429 Intake Manifold
Fat Brian replied to VRM's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
One exists, it's in the Johan 72 Torino stock car kit. I don't know if anyone casts it. You might find someone who will part with one in the Wanted section. -
Which modeling glue to use ?
Fat Brian replied to Ctmodeler's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use a combination of glues because each has different properties that make it better or worse for a given situation. I use the red tube glue for basic construction, especially on unpainted plastic. I also use a plastic "welding" liquid glue applied with a paint brush for strong, quick joints on unpainted plastic. For less structural joints I use super glue, this works on unpainted and painted surfaces but can fog so be mindful of that. For clear parts I use Testors clear waterbased paint if the parts fit well enough, just brush a bit around the edge with a small brush. -
Ok, I want to build a replica of my dad's tan on tan 77 Pacer and it had those hub caps.
-
I remember your Pacer, that is a very cool build.

For engine swaps there are a few popular options, a 2JZ from the AMT Supra fits and is a popular swap in just about anything with the length to fit it. Then you've got the LS, someone had a Revell Camaro up for trade recently that would have the perfect version for this car. They might still have it. You can use the Coyote engine from a Revell 2014 Mustang or the Hemi from a Revell Challenger. By the way, if anyone knows where to find a set of those stock hub caps I'd love to have them.

This mounting was also done in Ford LNTs as well. Check out Brian's excellent LNT 9000 build by the way. They aren't a particular kind of engine that's slanted, they are just regular engines with angled mounts.

I just found out my state has exempted cars twenty years and older from the annual emissions inspection. My 98 Lexus is now exempt and the v12 conversion can begin.
