  1. I really like that car, it's on my build list too.
  2. Thank you, I'll do my best. In that case I'll announce my build. I'm going to do the Decepticon Barricade from the first Transformers movie. I've had the decals made and have a partial kit to get started, I have to get another one because I cut this one up for last years Cannonball.
  3. I need a ruling from the rules committee before I announce my build. The exact movie car I want to build is based on a mid 2000s Saleen Mustang but there isn't a Saleen kit available for that generation of Mustang. Can I use the Revell GT500KR as a starting point and modify it be a bit more Saleen-like? Here are pictures of the kit and the a real Saleen.
  4. In the mid 90s a friends dad had an immaculate dark green Skyhawk with a tan interior. I want to say it was a 78 but I cant swear to it.
  5. Okay. This is what I would do but you'll have to test it because I've never used this combo before. I would try regular Testors flat black as the primer first, if those don't work together you'll need a hotter primer like Duplicolor or Rustoleum.
  6. They make a lacquer primer in white for the lacquer paints.
  7. Maybe back up an album, Aenima is a bit more radio friendly. Tracks like Stinkfist, 46 & 2, and Aenema get regular radio play and are a bit more hooky.
  8. Yes, since the AMT Monza has been reissued it would be nice to see if any of the previous custom pieces would fit it.
  9. Yes, MM is Model Master. That primer should be safe for Testors enamels, for anything else you'll need to test it. As for Rustoleum, its hotter than Testors and will wrinkle it almost every time. If you want to use Testors over Rustoleum you need to test it, different kinds of paint don't always play well together.
  10. I don't have any luck with Duplicolor so I avoid it if at all possible. With the Testors stuff as long as you use the same system of stuff you should be okay, MM with MM and the lacquer with its things. With any crossing of paint types it's best to just test it out on a spare body to be sure.
  11. The Model Master green is about medium dark, it's not super dark. The laquers aren't hot like the Duplicolor car paint so you can use normal Testors primer.
  12. You could grab the AMT reboxing of the Italeri 378 and American style reefer trailer and have the whole thing. The 378 has the shorter grille but with the big bull bar up front it shouldn't be as noticeable. You'll just need two flat tops from the 36" sleeper to replace the raised top on the big sleeper.
  13. Everything I've gotten from Motor City has been immaculate, nearly impossible to tell from kit parts.
  14. Fellow Tool fan here, I think part of the reason there aren't huge bands like Zeppelin anymore is that our media is so segmented. There are huge acts I've never heard of in genres I don't listen to because you can pretty much surround yourself with just stuff you like 24 hours a day. We live in our own little perpetual media bubbles and you almost have to purposefully seek out different stuff to hear. And it's not just music either. I don't know that any band from the last 15 years or so will still be relevant when we're old, it seems like the 90s will be the last decade to produce long lasting music.
  15. The truck in the top and bottom pictures is a Pete 379, fortunately much cheaper than the spendy FLD kit.
  16. Nice work on a challenging kit, when I built mine it felt like pieces wouldn't stop coming out of the box.
  17. Those wheels are in the Monogram/Revell 4x4 truck in 1/24 scale soo they'd be a bit bigger.
  18. The 4bt will be an easier swap for sure, the 5.9 is significantly longer than a v8. One thing in his favor though is the kit is 1/24th scale so theres a bit more room to play with.
  19. Yes, perfect.
  20. Does anyone make decals for the cars from Talladega Nights in 1/24 scale and is there even an appropriate kit to use them on?
  21. Trailer Trash Kustomz does a 5.9 Cummins and its 4bt little brother.
  22. 2" is barely noticeable, especially since they're black like the tires.
  23. The best info I could find said the wheels were 20".
  24. This is really cool and makes me want to work on my 34 rat wrecker. One thing though, your valve covers are on backwards, the angled part goes in the back.
