The AMT Fast & Furious orange Supra has two NOS bottles in a rack that sits under the rear hatch.

Okay, I'll check those sites out, thank you.

I've been bitten pretty hard by the NASCAR bug and have been wanting to build some cars I remember from my childhood and significant cars from the past. My first model kit was Mark Martin's Folgers car, I'd like to find better decals for that one. I'm also looking for decals for Petty's 84 Daytona car, I have the old kit with those decals but the orange looks far too bright. I'm kind of late to the party and it seems like a lot of items that were available have gone away.

I'm not into Gundam stuff but if anyone would kit the Battletech/Mechwarrior mechs I'd buy every one they put out. If I ever get really ambitious I might scratch one.
-
Wow, that is one heck of a load.

I like this idea, I have plans for other types of race cars as well. I think I have gathered enough parts for a salt flats 32 roadster with a Duesenberg straight 8 and its tow vehicle. Maybe the group build format will help keep me progressing on a build.

I used these tires on different rims for my Cannonball build this year. They are a bit wide for 1/25 but not cartoonishly so, still, most cars will need at least mini tubs to fit them.

I'm next door to Charlotte North Carolina, last week it barely got out of the thirties but today it was 80. Something, something, polar vortex yada yada...

What's the latest Revell North America News
Fat Brian replied to Phildaupho's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yeah. The Revell issues have left some empty spots on the shelves of my local stores that fill up whenever they get a few of the intended kits in. -
What's the latest Revell North America News

Your right, they reset the model aisle twice a year when they get in new releases. Though the Revell shake up has changed that a bit lately. -
I do a similar job now, I work as the coordinator between contractors and my companies engineers to draw up encroachment agreements on pipeline right of ways.

I'm 6'3" and about 425 and my name is Brian. It's also a nod to an old bit on the Bob and Tom show. Their characters Jimmy and Tony have a weed dealer who also delivers pizza they call Fat Brian.

I'm not as far along as Brian but I made one too. Once you get the block done you can use a lot of parts from a kit 8v-71 to finish it.

I'm finally making some progress on the Beetle. There was no way I could make the tires I posted last time work so I bit the bullet and bought an old set of American Satco Bridgestones off Ebay. They're much better than before but I've only got four so I'm going to have to get creative with a spare. I've lifted it about four scale inches and completely removed the running boards. I'm thinking about using the right hand drive dash since the kit only comes with wipers for that version. The wheels are ancient MRC Cragar SS's thst just happened to fit the tires. I had really wanted to run Jackman wide fives but they aren't available in resin anymore but the Cragars are equally 70's looking.

I just completed trades with Scott8950 and SCRWDRVR, both were excellent and I would trade with either of them again.

Hurst Olds to Cutlass 442 Conversion?
Fat Brian replied to Intmd8r's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I just picked this kit up at Hobby Lobby two weeks ago, give it a little time and they should make it to your area. -
Yep, it's another version of the Monster Mash and Hammerhead kit.

Its usually the parting seems on the little pins that prevent the snap on type wheels from rolling freely. VERY careful sanding of the pin to remove the seem helps a lot. The other issue is that there can be a little flash in the holes of the wheel backs, again, very careful sanding or knife work can fix it but the tolerances are very small. Another thing that can gum up the works is paint, if you want a free rolling wheel leave the pins and the holes of the wheel backs bare plastic. Obviously there are drawbacks to rolling wheels but those are some tips for getting them if it matters to you.

48-inch flotation tires?
Fat Brian replied to ABC Auto Industry's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
A board member who's no longer active pointed me toward those tires a few years ago. They come on Newray 1/43 diecast monster trucks and scale out almost perfectly to 48" early monster truck tires. The rims might be a tad small but you can always embiggen the hole and use USA-1 or Bigfoot rims. -
Yep, the Munsters kit is USA-1 with different decals.
-
There is an 80s Bronco to go with the Datsun, El Camino, and Dodge truck. There is also the USA-1 kit and the Bigfoot 10 and Snakebite kits. Then there is the late 80s Bigfoot leafspring kit that could be any truck from 3 to 7 but doesn't represent any one truck all that well, the Destroyer 2 kit is a reissue of this kit. There is the Destroyer 1 kit that is basically a reissue of the first Bigfoot kit with different decals. Then there are the Lindberg Raminator and Rammunition trucks and the AMT Grave Digger, Ninja Turtles, and Jurassic Attack kits and the Revell Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction snap kits.

Now THIS is ridiculous!
Fat Brian replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A lot of it has to do with socioeconomic status as well. My wife's family is largey a bunch of white trash meth addicts or pill heads so they rarely have functional car, much less a way to move anything so when I have had a truck or large SUV I was the first call because they didn't have the means to do it themselves. -

Fat Brian replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This is the God's honest truth right here, if you're a man and own a truck you'll be the first call anytime anyone needs something moved. Even friends of your friends you don't know will somehow know you have a truck.
