  1. That Blazer is a good find.
  2. I've seen reviews of this kit, it looks amazing. I don't really have room for 1/48 aircraft but I've got a 1/72 Academy P-38 I'll get to eventually.
  3. Maybe what was once lost has now been found? They're definitely digging deep in the stash.
  4. Even though I didn't do many modifications to the kit one of my favorite builds is my 59 Eldorado. It's one of those builds where I just totally nailed my initial vision.
  5. The Nova's are supposed to be in the pipeline, no definitive date though.
  6. So who told the other guy it was coming? That was from official Round2 channels.
  7. The Hobbytown near me had all their Testors paints in clearance when I was there two weeks ago. At that time they said that the paints were coming back but in Rustoleum packaging. The total discontinuation of hobby paints is news to me.
  8. It's a shame they didn't do the printed windows like in the Monte Carlo kit.
  9. The high top should still fit the police van, you just wont have the windows. If the inserts from the camper kit are still in good shape some judicious cutting on a new body might allow you to drop them in.
  10. I've always wanted to build the car from David Wilcox's song Rusty Old American Dream. It doesn't give a specific car other than that it's a 58 or 59 model but it's pretty descriptive otherwise.
  11. It's a subject that interests him so he's more likely to see it through than just a random kit so that's a bonus. The Revell Chargers also seem to fit pretty well overall so there shouldn't be and major issues in construction as long as he follows the instructions and does basic parts cleanup and test fitting. When he's ready to start building I would sit down with him and show him some basics about sanding and cleaning up where the parts attach to the trees. You might could also give him a spare body you've got laying around to practice painting on.
  12. Thanks Casey, that's what wanted to do.
  13. This is the thread I got the info from, look for Mr Mopars post about 2/3 of the way down.
  14. I would buy the 11x22 tires, I just bought three IH 4300s at Ollie's mainly for the wheels and tires.
  15. I believe the Transtar II Eagle, the second version with square headlight bezels is coming some time next year.
  16. I have a snap kit that's going to donate its roof, it's about an 1/8" too narrow for the lower part of the sleeper so I'm going to have to add a little scab to each end and blend it in. It shouldn't change the overall look of the top.
  17. For one that size you're right on the line between a heavy pickup chassis and a commercial truck chassis. For ease of acquisition I might start with an AMT C600 or the Ford Louisville. Those chassis are long and flat and straight so you can just start hanging big flat pieces of sheet stock.
  18. Thsts fine, figured I'd ask. I want to build a B model and need the Aerodyne sleeper. I didn't notice there were different versions until I'd bought mine.
  19. Yeah, I still buy CDs. One day when the internet doesn't work anymore I can still listen to my favorite songs on the hard copies.
  20. The hood scoop is the one in the Monogram Super Bee 440 six pack kit. I dont know if anyone does it in 1/25 scale.
  21. Yeah, I wasn't considering that the existing grille will probably not be used at all due to the difference in the noses.
  22. I'm almost certain the bumper and grille will be separate, if I remember correctly you have to insert the kit grille from behind the nose piece and it wont fit through the opening from the front. Just adding a bumper to the existing piece will make it not fit either way.
  23. If you're not committed to the Aerodyne sleeper I'd make it worth your while to trade me for the more modern one.
  24. I'd take another General, the one I've got is the warpy 90s reissue.
