  1. The NASCAR tire molds probably got sent to China. The tires were the same for every Monogram NASCAR kit from the 80s all the way to the last full detail kits in the 2010s.
  2. There are a lot of really high buy it now prices but realistically you're looking at $150-$200. You've got some box wear so this is a builder grade kit but these earlier issues have a bit less flash than the newer ones and the original decals which some people want. I sold the newer issue with the blue truck on the box for $150 last year.
  3. When I built my Alaskan truck I put a sleeper on it. With the unpredictable nature of the environment I'd rather have on than not. The 36" is definitely more workmanlike than the bigger on though.
  4. There is a similar kit to the 359 in 1/25 but I don't know if it's an exact clone. There hasn't been a long hood Aerodyne issued. There is the short hood snap kit or the long hood flat top. You could make a long hood Aerodyne in 1/25 if you can find the first issue of the Revell T600. It's the only issue with the Aerodyne roof. Then swap the sleeper onto the long hood flat top kit.
  5. Yeah, I might wait and see if another one pops up. That one likely isn't going anywhere any time soon. On the other hand, the only sold one was $96 so that might be the going price. It seems fairly rare, probably due to its snapness.
  6. Is this the original General Lee that was pulled out of the woods?
  7. Not by me, those are incredible kits. With the increasing popularity of Fox bodies I'd love to see this kit again even without decals.
  8. That's a nice build.
  9. Thanks, I had forgotten how easy most kits can build if you just use the pieces in the box and leave them alone.
  10. Yeah, I'm not trying to light up the head lights, just represent the daytime running lights.
  11. Rear end in place and wheels on.
  12. I've almost got the guts of Barricade done. The last thing I need to do is attach the rear suspension and wheels to set the ride height and stance. Then it's on to the body, it's put together but I haven't painted it you so I could handle it while I'm getting the chassis squared away.
  13. I was hoping to replicate the look of the lights when they're on.
  14. That's not a terrible idea.
  15. Has anyone thought of or used or seen a way to replicate the LEDs used in modern headlights? I'm close to trying a drop of bright blue in white paint applied to the back of the lens, maybe using a tube with the end dipped in paint for the round style. I didn't know if anyone had seen a better way.
  16. That's the thing, they don't have to include the Bigfoot decals. It could have Coke decals too. They have already issued the 80s Bigfoot with alternate decals as the Destroyer II. The only problem I can think of is that the valve covers say "Bigfoot" on them but that could be fixed, they're wrong anyway. They've done the Bigfoot 10 tube chassis truck with just American flag decals.
  17. I agree that the two frames are different, there are obvious differences in places that shouldn't need to have been changed to make the monster truck conversion. That plus the fact the regular long bed was reissued after the first issue of the USA-1 truck says that at least the frame wasn't altered then. What has happened to it since then is anyone's guess. I also wonder why they keep reissuing the chevy kit when the have the 80s Bigfoot kit too.
  18. Great, I've bought more than enough donor kits as it is.
  19. It's not too late as long as the kit isn't more than 25% complete already.
  20. Would the Lindberg/AMT 66 Chevelle chassis be a suitable donor as well? I have an Olds motor to donate to the cause as well.
  21. I'm getting it from him, I was going to radius the wheel wells anyway so them not being perfect doesn't matter. Even if it's really chopped up I've got an old Ranchero body I can use for patch panels or a top and rear end transplant.
  22. The Thunderbird is probably a 67, the 68 and 69 models had long bumper extensions toward the fender opening for side turn signals.
