  1. Thanks Jim glad your enjoying it ! And thanks Chris, nice of you to comment ! Im just not into factory stock, its nice making it up as you go along, its like all my model spares are one big jigsaw, somewhere in there is the next bit to go on ! ! Now will you please get back to your funny car build ? Lol. !!
  2. I'm really liking the blue one, personally I don't like that wing, but I would still use one ! The red ones a great colour , I also liked it in the first pic where its dusted red over the copper ! Keep it going, looking forward to more !
  3. Lovin this little fiat, great pics too it looks like a real car ! !
  4. Basic chassis is complete so I built the 350z engine, its quite set back in the chassis so clears the VW front okay. Decided to paint it, as I wanted to try the finished body colours to make sure I was happy with them. Paint is Tamiya Lavender and Plasticote Lavender, and they match quite nice I think ! More soon....
  5. Thanks Tom, and Mike the version I have with full engine detail is this one below. Wheels are nothing like the proper F&F car but its got nice running gear and the engine looks great !
  6. Tried a few more body mods too ! The idea is for it to look beetle-ish, but more hi-tech street rod than cal-look ! Rear lights, door handles, boot lock etc. were smoothed out and I also removed the lower panel in the rear bumper. This will be filled with 2 big bore exhausts ! I added new front lights too, after many attempts I've got 1937 Ford lights and I love em ! ! Plenty more bodywork left, but I'm happy so far
  7. Thanks for comments guys, and yes foxer it will be 350z powered ! ! Chassis was a pain as it has to slide in to the body, I tried a few attempts until I found a style that worked. The Viper front end now has a panel underneath blended in and the very rear part of the 350z chassis fitted to the rear. Now I could scratch built a section over the rear axle, and the whole thing can slide in and out. Pics will explain it better ! Also snapped the 350z axle so added new metal shafts with a rod through the middle.
  8. Very nice looking nova, paint is stunning ! Love the dio too, in the last pic how come the guys welding ????
  9. Thanks JC, yes as I said at the start, its an older project, it was running on another forum but I only use this one now
  10. Thanks for the comments guys.......Next up was the chassis. I wanted to use the 350z chassis, or most of it, but the more I try the more it gets cut up...At present its in 10 pieces, has been narrowed, and is finally starting to fit !! I may change a few bits but here it is mocked up after the temporary floor was removed ...
  11. Made up a temporary floor, so I could cut the door out, suicide style.. Starting to look a bit more wild !
  12. Viper front was still too narrow, so I had to widen it a bit......
  13. Next up was a new front end, tried several before I found a old Dodge Viper that I`d nicked the engine from, mocked up it looked ok, but needed a bit of work to fit properly.........
  14. First off I got the hacksaw out and cut the roof off, I left the front pillars on for reference only....This is mocked up with 350Z wheels and a scratchbuilt rear shelf......
  15. This is an old project of mine I've decided to continue with. I remember one of these being built a while back, although not a copy this might be similar (from memory ) so I cant take all the design credit ok ! I bought a new shape beetle with the idea of making it look a bit radical, and something I could practice bodywork with, as its one of my weakness's shall we say ! Here's the starting point !
  16. Really love that colour combination, great job with the paint ! And that registration number is soooo Kool ! !
  17. Once I got the front end glued up, i found the wheels just caught the arches, so ended up pulling it apart again ! I saved the A arms but had to cut the spindles up then re-drill the arms. Now gone back to standard A-arms and added lowered springs, yes its on full drop so the springs are flat ! Now sits perfect, and I'm moving on to the engine for a bit, add last few suspension bits later !
  18. Wow I'm so impressed with the parts you make, the chassis is so realistic ! Its great too that you have the imagination to produce these builds, love following this Eric keep it going mate......
  19. You nailed that 64 !! Love the paint, any details how you did it ?? Interior is really nice, like how you done the seats...Great job DeeCee
  20. Looking good Andy, been looking for a Mk1 myself but I'm not paying £50 !! Love that wheel n tyre combo, looks like my dream Mk1 coming together, just needs a cage and mexico stripes ! !
  21. Super Kool..... Love seeing something with a LOT of imagination gone into it, like this...... Any more details? Build pictures ??
  22. Getting back on this, but its taken ages getting the front down in the weeds...... New spindles, A-arm bushes, shocks etc and I'm almost there. Front cross member is a cocktail stick off the floor now ! Pics don't show the shocks but I get some more up when the steering is done.....Thanks for looking in....
  23. Tim, I'm used to my jaw hitting the floor when I read your updates, but this, I'm shocked... So sorry mate, I'm gutted I can't imagine how u felt ! Think we all looking forward to what's next, you have quite a fan club here....
  24. Rear shocks were a pain to make, I decided to make hydraulics instead as this will be quite low. New scratch built rams are adjustable and just need hydraulic lines added. That's the rear end done for now, quick mock up of the front end too (sorry, bit blurry! ) , more rams to make now ! For comparison heres the standard one with my new ones........
  25. That's a nice way to build it, look forward to seeing how you progress. And sorry for the loss of your friend, your 40 will be a nice reminder of him....
