  1. Jim,i hear you! here are a few of my future projects,in the planning /drawing board stages now.........................Mark
  2. Nice score! I wish I had a case of R-Models in my stash! too many pending projects, not enough kits!...........................Mark
  3. As already stated the Mack R-685 kit is your best bet as a base kit, some serious scratchbuilding will be involved! the truck pictured is an R-Model with what appears to be a Prentice self-loader,can't help much with that, but would certainly be able to help out with any Mack specific related questions or information,ie: specific colors options, etc glad to help!................................Mark
  4. Snake, diggin' this build, personally, I would go with the "steelies" on the back, gives much more of a "on a budget" "run what ya' brung" feel to the car no? I have restored an AMT 55' Nomad gluebomb from my youth that is very similar (sorry for the crappy pics, there was a smudge on the camera lense)...............................Mark
  5. Thank you all for the kind comments! it is surely appreacieated, getting back into the swing of things, got a good bit done today, just my old eyes aren't what they used to be! Lol! I meant to comment on the hood fit, strangely that was the ONLY area of assembly that didn't give me any problems, seems everyone else has srtuggled with that hood, maybe I did something right? Lol! might get a little more done this week, will keep everyone posted!..............................Mark
  6. Finally have some updates on the Boss to share! I got the cab/hood re-painted and decaled last night, got everything mocked up for final assembly. been a long uphill battle with this one! if I never see a set of these mirrors again,it will be too soon! they sorely tested my patience I ended up stripping the chrome and will repaint them with Alclad, the attachment points were just too bad and looked terrible when assembled..Same thing with the grille and cab marker lights. Well, here are a few pictures of my progress!........................Mark
  7. Outstanding build! I drove a 1:1 Brockway 361 many years ago,one of my favorite trucks! this one is awesome! I sure wish I had the talent / scratch-building know how to do this caliber of work!...................................Mark
  8. Nicely done! some nice clean work,i want to pickup a couple of these kits before they go away!..................................Mark
  9. Big improvement on that grille! looks great! does this kit come with the hideaway headlight grille as well? I want to get a couple of these kits myself, first generation Camaros are my alltime favorite 1:1 cars..................................Mark
  10. Sam,looks like about 90% Autocar parts there! the rounded fenders are from the tractor, the pit fenders, grille guard, steps etc. from the dumptruck. The red hood is from the MPC Mack DM-800. A couple pieces there I'm not familiar with,a nice score none-theless!..............................Mark
  11. I finally broke down and got the re-issued California Hauler, started drawing out some plans and designs and think I may add the chrome Mercury sleeper when it comes out?...................................Mark
  12. Does anyone know if there's an aftermarket or kit sourced extended hood available for either the AMT or Revell 359 Peterbilts? need one for a future project....................Thanks, Mark
  13. Gary Blizzard is a new England based artist specializing in old/movie/TV show trucks,he does some outstanding work, and has a line of t-shirts on Ebay, here's a sample of his "Blue Mule" WT-9000 Ford.......................................Mark
  14. As a self proclaimed "Mack Nut" I can't find a single thing out of place on this truck, outstanding work, and attention to detail second to none I've seen!.........................Mark
  15. I agree, great start to the A-Car,i only build "real" looking older trucks, better time in my life as well, plus,I started driving some of the 1:1 model subjects when I was a young man! Autocars were extremely popular out here on the east coast, good many of them still running/working in Jersey!...............................................Mark
  16. I'm with Jim on the oilfield rig for the KW,floats up front, headache rack, diamond plate pull body, could be nice! I have my eye on that NAVL moving van if any trade opportunities show up LOL!.......................................Mark
  17. Need to get the "Trail Boss" Cruiseliner for my model room! I remember having the "Big Iron" Pete hanging on my wall in the seventies?...........................................Mark
