  1. Vince, thats a GREAT build! I'm originally from South Jersey, and saw many modifieds just like this run at several local dirt tracks,i am curious about the body,is it resin? or did you do the mods?..................................Mark
  2. I wish SOMEBODY would do a CX so I could build a replica of my 1:1 truck there are resin CL's CH's etc.available, but the only CX I've seen is a 1:32 New-Ray toy, which I have been playing around with, one can never have enough Macks!.........................Mark
  3. Are you going to make those quilted doors available? my Dads 1:1 Utility reefer was so equipped, have'nt figured out any way to scratchbuild them yet!........................................Mark
  4. Beautiful car and build, but where did the decals come from?.....................................................Mark
  5. Thanks Snake! musta' missed that post early on,the project I am doing will be this car, owned by "The Boss" Bruce Springsteen,my cousin was a roadie for the E-Street band for several decades, and this car will be a gift for him, consigned by my uncle, only problem is my area of expertise is trucks! Lol! just I need to get started looking for the appropriate kit to get started!.............................Mark
  6. Not being familiar with Corvette kits I appreacieate all the helpful input, one more question, can someone tell me if an "up" top (convertible, not hardtop) is included in any of these kits? I received the pictures today for a build for my cousin as a gift and the car pictured has a convertible top.......................thanks in advavnce!....................Mark
  7. Sam,the recently re-released White-Freightliner C.O.E would be your best starting point, much easier to find (and cheaper) then the single axle. Some modifications will be nessesary, single axle, single headlights etc. As far as the two trucks pictured, from what I know the green truck is the "old" color scheme, white the red and white was the newer style adopted just before C-F went under. Consolodated Freightways is where Freightliner trucks originated, they wanted a truck built to their specs. so they built their own!...............................Mark
  8. Does anyone know if an "up" top comes with any of these kits? just curious as the 1:1 car I'm going to replicate is pictured with the convertible top up...................................Mark
  9. Excellent choice! the Crackerbox is one of the most iconic trucks made in the last decade,my Dad and uncle both drove them in the sixties..................................................Mark
  10. Is that Hurst T-handle and shifter included with this kit? great looking car! I like the color choice!.......................................Mark
  11. Very nice build! I have the same kit on-deck (the MPC "Bearcats" edition) just lacking the wheels and tires. I want to do it very similar to yours and was wondering the best way to attempt the pinstripes on the hood and fenders, got a pretty good idea how to proceed now!.....................................................Mark
  12. Sean, the V.I.T. (Very Important Truck) was the predecessor to what is now called the Aerodyne sleeper.................................................Mark
  13. The RL/RS series are my favorite Macks, growing up in a family of Mack owners and operators,my alltime favorite is the late Bob Ecksteins RL-700L one of two RL-7955's ever built with a factory Caterpillar engine,he also owned the other one (the blue one) which was recently for sale. Once I get a few more builds under my belt,my first resin conversion will be this truck!.........................................Mark
  14. I can help with that R-Model project when you get ready! I too am hoping for the re-release! this pretty close?............................................Mark
  15. Thank you all for the replies and advice! looks like the Revell kit is the way I may go,i've seen them pretty reasonable on the bay, just not real familiar with the differences in Corvette model years, this is a project for a family member, and doesn't need to be 100% correct,as lond as it captures the look and "feel" of the 1:1 car............................................Mark
  16. Make a real nice "TastyKake" delivery truck too! (northeast guys will get it)..................................................Mark
  17. Purple Power works great to remove paint, just remember to wear gloves when using it,and it will also strip chrome,if that doesn't work the next best thing I've used is Easy-Off oven cleaner (the yellow can),nasty stuff, but works great also. Gloves and eye protection are MANDATORY when using it,best used outside too if possible.............................Mark
  18. I have an up-coming project that requires a 1960 Corvette, and being as I primarilly build trucks,i was wondering which of the two kits available is the "better" kit? the AMT or Revell? more accurate, better detail, ease of assembly etc? opinions welcome...............................Thanks in advance!......................Mark
  19. What color did you use for the green? looks good! I like it!.............................................Mark
  20. Friend of mine in Jersey had three or four 9500's over the years, one of which has just been restored..................................Mark
  21. I agree with the others, that is a pretty ambitious paintjob for even a seasoned painter,a lot of prep, layout, masking and so-forth. For a first-time paintjob. My suggestion would be to practice, practice, practice, till you get the "basics" down before attempting a job like this..........................................Mark
  22. Sam, 99% sure that is a Volvo engine from one of the italeri kits? someone may know more then a do about the specifics, but that is my best guess................................Mark
  23. Lol! sure do! I guess I am a "Mack Man"at heart,but have always liked A-cars,Brockways,and GMC's too..................................Mark
  24. I'm with Jim on the smaller stacks,or "weedburner" exaust,pretty un-usual to see a 1:1 Ford with stacks anyway...........................................Mark
  25. 9500 series "Jimmy" was always a good looking truck in my opinion!............................................Mark
