  1. Cool. Are those the tires and wheels in this kit
  2. Mail man dropped off both the 1mm and 2mm chrome pens. I ordered them off Amazon maybe 2 weeks ago and they arrived this afternoon . And the curious George that I am . I had to see what all the fuss was about. I practiced on some spare sprues and realized you better be careful as it looks like on the 2mm pen the paint gets thick in a hurry. Then I did a windshield frame for my Munsters Koach and I swear it looks like it came off the chrome tree. I then used the 1mm version on some molded in hood pins on a a couple cars and WOW . Very nice . With that said only time will tell what it looks like in a year , or 5 , or 20 . But WOW, I'm impressed so far. Has anyone cleared over it yet to ck the effects if any ? I did a vent wing frame on a body that will get cleared here in the next few days . So maybe I'm the guinea pig ?????
  3. I'll have to ck but I think it just says half round - .020 on the pkg
  4. Thank you. I saved it and once i get some ink for my color printer. I take a stab at printing a copy on decal paper
  5. Interested in printing and selling me a copy of the seat decals . ? if so, PM me we'll talk I have a Johan 59 Fury build on the short list . And I've all but decided its going to be either a real dark blood red or black,,,but with red interior
  6. I think i used .010 x .020 for the top seams And.020 Half round for the surrounding trim mldg.
  7. I'll post these here in case anyone wants to do the right click save thing . This car is still extremely high on my want to do list. But the chassis building thing scares me off . Maybe someday
  8. I picked up 2 packs of the plastic spoons over the weekend at the dollar store at $1 a pack of 100 spoons per pack , I'm set for a while
  9. Got a set of original seats for my MPC 1969 Coronet from Ron Hamilton. Great guy . Thanks Ron, I owe you 1,,,or 2 actually .
  10. WOW, I didn't think you could top the 62 Chrysler but you might just be headed there with this one bro. As you well know black is my hands down favorite color. To bad its a pain to clean ( or keep clean I should say )
  11. Is the seat pattern decals ? if so are they in this kit or aftermarket ?
  12. Is the seat pattern decals ? if so are they in this kit or aftermarket ?
  13. If you want to sell the GTX body. and keep the funny car stuff ,,,pm me
  14. Thanks, Ive read and re-read that post several times. And I think I have it figured out. I've glued the lower rear and upper halves of the tail together and molded them together as one piece. Once painted I'll then slide the chassis in place. And then glue all the forward body panels in place after that. I'm after the look of the actual car with the scoop and the front wheel fairings. To be honest I just don't care for box art build version with the blower sticking up out of the body work. And mine is going to built curbside style as well. So the engine and all the blower stuff will go in the parts box . I have to go out this morning so i'll pick up some blue paint for the upper rear cowl , windshield frame and wheel fairings. But for the most part. So far so, so good
  15. Looking forward to the days in AZ when I can paint , model and just plain work outside year round . I figure thats about 16 months from now
  16. Some days I wonder what the model manufacturers thought process is on re-issuing kits. And this is one of them. I would imagine this will be retailed in the $29 range give or take . One can find this kit in the secondary market for well under $20 all day long. ( bought one a few months ago for $10 still sealed inside. ) And yes I know the manufacturers could care less about the secondary market place. But still ? Maybe I'm just not familiar with there thinking but to me it would make more sense to bring out something that hasn't seen the light of day , in say the last 20 years for an example. I'll use the 72 Chevy pickups as an example. I would think it would be a much better seller than say this one ,,,or the just re-issued Color Me Gone Dodge Anyone know for sure the thinking behind the scenes on how/why/when a kit gets re-issued ?
  17. Wow, won another one over the weekend . Wasnt really looking for another vert ( I have a pretty nice one already ) . But I threw a bid on it the last for minutes thinking I would get outbid at the last minute. Got up today only to find out I won the thing. It looks like a pretty decent builder in the pics
  18. My wife and mother in law used to own a hair / nail tanning salon. When it closed up I got a box full of some new and mostly used nail sanding files , it all kinds of grits . Im set for life
  19. WOW - killer paint finish .
  20. I stand corrected. Looks like it MIGHT have been avail on 1970 B body models. In all my years Ive never seen or heard of one in that color. This isn't the end all on color availability so don't take it as gospel . Look around here for more info http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/index.shtml
  21. Mind if I ask , what it is your planning to paint. To the best of my knowledge the only thing Q3 was avail on was C bodies in 1970.
  22. WOW, Very nice. I was in my local HL yesterday to pick up some paint. And they had this kit on the mark down isles. And for 17.99 I couldn't leave it there. Ive always thought this was a beautiful looking car then and now. Ive never been much of a FED model builder but this one will be in my case for sure . And I have it on the bench right now and would really appreciate any build tips anyone can provide . Im planning to build it as the scooped version with the front wheel fairings . I think it looks cleaner . Haven't decided yet if I'll actually put the engine in it or not. Have to pick up some blue in the next day or so . The orange/red I am going to use is a Mopar touchup color called Candy Tangerine I bought for a different build but decided to go with a different color on it
  23. Found this one at Hobby Lobby on the discount table. Anyone have any build suggestions or tips to make it look right. Especially paint colors or suggestions Tia
  24. Same here, I ordered the pens mainly for dash bezels , steering wheel horn rings. And the occasional under hood touch on engine parts / chrome valve covers as an example. Seriously doubt I'll ever use them on any body exterior trim I would be real curious the longevity of these pens finish over time . How well they retain there brilliance
  25. A couple new decal sheets for later on someday builds . Now I might actually drag one of the new 65 Satellites to the bench here soon
