  1. On the 1/1 the chrome bezel is almost same height, maybe even slightly below the surface of the black painted area On a model it would be even with the surface of the body . IMO, the only way to do it is either chrome the bezel and use a clear paint to do the tail lights and back up lamp lenses ( my preference) Or mold the lenses red and with a silver sharpie go over the edges of the bezel If someone wants to see any angles on a 1970 Cuda tail light I have a car in the shop I can take any angle wanted. ps, this is an original sheetmetal car as well, so I might measure body panels / lines
  2. Somehow they latch into receivers on the chassis ( my apologies for the slight hijak )
  3. These are 2 pictures I took of the JJ Nova last year. 2 double sided hooks mounted to the forward bulkhead
  4. I'm not 100% sure of the dark color. In some pics I've seen it looks copper or bronze, others it looks like candy apple red. There is a 1/1 clone out and about a few years back at the US Nationals and it looked bronze. When I asked about the color, the guy I talked to didn't know much about the car other than it was a replica of the max wedge car
  5. Not 100% sure but I think the rear half of the roof line and back glass are different between 2 door hardtop versus the 2 door sedan
  6. I'll give the builder credit, he was at least creative and was thinking outside the box,,,,,,,,,,,albeit WAY outside of the box
  7. Oh don't get me wrong It's good to have the Lindberg Mopars back no matter what variant. I'll buy a few,,,,, well just because. And I assume this will be a max wedge car ? Anyone know if the all of the secondary color is going to be via decals ( similar to the Color Me gone Dodge ) or just the side panel lettering ? I think R+R makes a sedan and like said I think it's for the johan chassis. but I think JF makes one for the LIndberg kit. But I was less than pleased with either, so I have already started a conversion to make my own 2 door sedan for the Lindberg kits.
  8. Great pictures, right click save , just in case ps, the JJ 1969 Nova had a body latch system very similar to that and I think it was actually a double sided hook that latched onto a receiver on the chassis and not one of the chassis rails/tubes
  9. I was just curious , I had a feeling you had some kind of 1/1 references to go on . And body up / inside of the body can't be an easy picture to get unless you get to see the actual car in person . I saw the restored JJ 1969 Nova last year and I tried to get as many detail pictures as I could before my camera battery died on me, and I didn't get anywhere near enough to make me happy.
  10. I grew up in a time when $5 for a kit was expensive, when I first started my kits were under $1 and IMO, to see it today when the average kit price is $20 more or less (usually more ) I personally have a hard time with it. Thats why I usually/lately have been buying 2nd hand . Actually I think the last time I bought a new release off a store shelf was when the Polar lights funnycars came out or possibily the AMT 71 Duster was 1st released. Actually 90% of what I have been buying in the past few years are kits I can't buy off any store shelves. That said when this Cuda arrives I'll kringe but will buy a few, how many will depend on how much. Mainly because its near the top of my want list. same with the 71 Demon kit when it shows up. And I don't need kits with a bunch of photoetch stuff in it or one thats 1000% dead nuts on to make me happy with it. And yes I am a scale snob or I might be happy with converting a monogram 71 So yes what I see so far is IMO good enough and I'll work with it . And I'll bet I am of the majority
  11. I don't really understand all the hullabaloo over this kit. It's nothing but a decal and box art change from any one of the earlier 64 Plymouth kits is it not ? IMO, if they want to really make a splash with it , tool it to reflect a sedan body
  12. I went thru my parts bins and found one side of what I think your after,,,,,,,, no idea where or when I got it or what it's out of. If you want it, pm me an address and it's yours , maybe you can use it to make a resin copy of it to get both sides
  13. She is 15 , but till now has never shown any interest in building a model kit . But I think it has more to do with her younger sister building a couple, I've built a bunch so she asked me if I had some kind of German car ( I don't ) she could do for her German class project.
  14. OK, My oldest daugher has decided for her German class in school she wants to build a model kit Only problem is, it has to be of a German made product car Her 1st choice is a Volkswagon Beetle, maybe a BMW or some sort ,,,,as I think these are the 2 most recognizable of the bunch This will be here very model ever so it needs to be reasonably easy because it has to be finished in time to be graded for finals in about 4 or 5 weeks
  15. There were some MT style valve covers avail in some of the old Johan kits , which are very similar to the ones shown. Competition Resin has a copy of the Johan MT's btw edit, just ck'd they have a milidon style Hemi valve cover as well that might pass for what your after http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/page/237910
  16. agreed 100% You can please all of the people some of the time. or You can please some of the people all of the time. you can pick only one
  17. If I may, how or where do you come up with such detailed reference pictures to show how the supports were made as an example ? I have a feelign your not just ,,winging it
  18. Very nice, I want to do one of these kits but had heard of fit issues getting it to look right with the body down
  19. Although I don't think I would call it horrible, just not 100% accurate when you compare the AMT version side by sde with an original MPC issue . If they use the original MPC body, hood and grille with everything else from the AMT Duster I would be good with that.
  20. Out of the choices given, wheels # 1 and I agree a lighter color would make it pop.The Pearl white mentioned would be cool, or maybe a light gold.. But to be honest none of them really do it for me, then again the model isn't for me. Myself I've never be a big fan of the big wheels short sidewall tire movement. BUT, a few years back there was an early 64 or maybe 65 Valiant 2 door hardtop running around the Mopar Nats that just knocked my socks off. But it was more of a pro touring style. Nice wheels and tires that had some sidewall . But lowered just about perfect. That car was REEEEEEALY nice and I would gladly have parked it in my garage.
  21. Trust me, I am well aware there was a Lawman in a 1964 Plymouth 2 door hardtop,,,my comment was to the fact I don't believe a Hemi 2 door hardtop ever existed as a factory built car. Every reference I have on the Lawman is the 2 door hardtop was a maxwedge car, and the 2 door sedan was a Hemi car. Max wedge cars usually have the 4 headlight grille, and the double lump hood scoop. Hemi cars were 2 headlight grille and a wider and longer but almost smooth top hood scoop
  22. The Polyglas tire sets , are they all F60's or all L60's or a mixture of each ? 8 to a a pkg I assume ? And I assume the pad printed blue stripe slicks are only going to be packaged as a set of 2 slicks 2 ft tires and wheels ? I for one would MUCH rather have 8 pack sets of the slicks similar to the current sets ,,,, I have very little use the gasser wheels
  23. As far as I know of, ALL RO series ( aka - race hemi packaged cars ) 1964 were 2 door sedans I only know of one Race hemi 2 door hardtop ( and its a nascar hemi pkg) it's a 2 door Dodge hardtop ( green car )
  24. my mail man dropped this off today .
  25. Got it today. and it's still sealed inside. Looking at it I REALLY like it and it may coem to the ft of line asap. Tires themselves seem kind of rubbery though , not sure what my options are to get a similar size and shape for this car. I don't have anything in the parts box that even comes close
