Cool project. Is the JF body based on an original AMT kit , or is it based on a Polar lights version ? I have a resin 1965 Plymouth afx hardtop coming for a Sox and Martin car ( later)

I have an L700 here so I'll ck it this weekend .Thanks for the idea. But, The more I look at it, the more I think I'll do the Landy truck instead. The grille differences is going to bug me to much to do the Jenkins/Strickler version. For that one I'll get a Modelhaus cab,,,,,,,, down the road. Now just need to figure out how to do the ft fender flares, I'm thinking 1/4 round bent to shape. As always I am open to suggestions. Although,,,,,,, I wouldn't rule out a Hustler Hauler either.

My original intention when I bought the cab was to do the Strickler Jenkins truck Now I am leaning more towards doing some mods to the cab and do a Landy truck for my Landy Hemi Dart As far as the chassis , I don't know yet. I did a test fit with a chassis from the little red extress truck and I think it's to far off. So I am open to ideas - suggestions

Everything for this is starting to come together. Just got the 1 ton wheels in last week . Ramp body I've had for a while. Service body I just got in last week . Still undecided which direction to go with it. So I'm looking for ideas. My original intention was to do the Jenkins - Strickler truck they used to pull the 64 Dodge Race car around on a trailer with. But I realized yesterday the grille is wrong for that application. Dodge cab is from RMR , Service bed is from Hendricks Motorsports. Ramp bed is a scratchbuilt piece I bought off Ebay

Am I the first to lose a model?
gtx6970 replied to sportandmiah's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Lost forever ? I don't think so. I have found stuff I thought I sold or just plain forgot I had and haven't seen it in some case 10 plus years( recent 1971 duster kit as an example) Most recent was I found a baggie with a batch of stock resin grilles for a 1970 Duster,, I knew I bought but had no idea where they were. Want to find something you lost,,,,,,,,buy a replacement then the original just miraclessly just pops up every time. -
All the AFX cars were delivered with a crossram , so early on many cars ran with them ( thus the hood scoop ) Also, it would not be out of the question to run short stack injection and still be under the hood scoop

Ok, I've collected most of what I need in resin to bring this project to the for front. It's a 1964 Dodge 1 ton dually and I need a reasonably accurate chassis of it ,,,,,, 2wd btw any ideas whats the best option . I have a couple of the later dodge D100 chassis I may go with if nothing more accurate is avail.

The original MPC kit doesn't have the ridge on thr trunk lid either

I really like what you did with this one.. The body lines just scream Virgil Exner and I love it I just did one of these as a ramchargers car and it's probaly one of my favorite builds to date.

quote name="cnaind" post="853064" time="1357741568"] Norseman - need to finish interior, everything else done. As in Chrysler Norseman show car ? if so, I'll take one as soon as it's ready

Eye candy And you can see in some pictures it has the blue tinted glass, and in others it has clear glass, when which was which , I have no idea. I am pretty sure the car restored today has clear glass. ps, I also just noticed some pictures it has a 2 headlight grille and in some it has a 4 headlight grille.

I just looked thru all my AFX cars pictures. And I didn't find one single picture of the Landy car with a vent wing frame but every one has a frame around the door glass. I DID find a few of the Sox and MArtin Paper Tiger 1 car that had the vent wing frames. I still think this is a cool picture . If I cound find the truck cab, I might considering attempting this in scale .
