  1. https://www.tamiyausa.com/shop/finishing/craft-cotton-swab-7/
  2. foil under paint. I use those real small Tamiya pointed swabs dipped in laquer thinner to remove the paint
  3. Steve, if Az is on the short list My personal opinion is avoid Phoenix ,,,,,FAR FAR to much traffic and never cools down enough in the summertime , at least not for me . BUT there is much more to do and see in Phoenix if thats your preference. I settled south of Tucson. but can be in Phoenix in about 2 hours if I feel the need to visit and I dont have to deal with the traffic or heat unless I visit
  4. Ive built models off and on since about the age of 6 or 7 . Ive owned all kinds of Mopar muscle from wing cars to Convertibles and a few Hemi cars. Sold my last one about 15 years ago. Ive built several cars for other people over the past 12-15 years So I have been pretty much 'car less ' of our own for a while But got the itch BAD about 2 or 3 years back to get back into vintage Mopar Muscle. But felt a project was of zero interest. SO,,,,last fall I finally made a deal and pulled the trigger on my current car. 1966 Satellite , Hemi auto. In MY dream color combination of black with red interior. Im planning to retire here soon so am hoping to get back to building the smaller scale .......just right now to much fun with the 1/1 hotrod
  5. So far so good . Just my 2cents. But the intake manifold from a Johan kit is much more accurate than either the AMT or Revell version . I have several spares if you want one or 3
  6. Dude, you should have let me know you were gonna be that close. Im 2 hours south of there and would have drove the hotrod up for a spin
  7. Ive seen the restored 65 AFX car in person. And I dont remember it having any kind of orange tint to it like Fords Poppy red Its been a while but best I remember and would dare a guess maybe something like Mopar PP1 or R4 or MAYBE R6 red at the darkest . But IMO I would lean more towards the lighter color
  8. gents, if this happens put me down for 2 complete interiors. I have 2 cars
  9. Correct the red interiors in 68 and prior definitely have a pearl look to them ( my 66 is said interior ) Where as 69 red interiors are very much a tomato red that has zero pearl tint to it And Yes, red stripe was avail on pretty much any exterior color, just some may not be ' non recommended' so to speak . As far as a 15" steel wheel with beenie hubcaps was standard on Hemi cars in 1968 but not 100% sure of they were avail non hemi cars unless it was a police car or taxi . SO maybe keep that in mind on power train choice 1968 hemi cars would have F70-15 tires ( same goes for 1969 btw ) the 1969 A12 was G70-15
  10. I vaguely remember reading many years ago the chassis in this car is the same in his 68-69 Nova bodied car
  11. Finish those seats then make a resin copy of the complete interior . I'll take 2 right now please
  12. Steve, the left side of the dash pad should match the right side . its way to thin from this angle
  13. None I know of. I just took an extra kits back seat and made my own
  14. Ive never seen another one built. and only 1 or 2 unbuilt. This is molded in clear red plastic Its the molded in clear versions that can be found occasionally, and even it the Charger is the easier of the 2 to find
  15. Someone told me several years back the tooling for the MPC 71 Roadrunner was damaged and/or no longer viable for use
  16. 1969 dash is thicker all the way across and less pronounced point in the center
  17. 1968 dash is thinner and come to more of a point in the center the actual plastic dash frame in the kit has the correct shape , just not the thickness
  18. I built my clear red AA/FC Cuda kit
  19. I just hope i can build maybe 1 ...or 2 Im having fun with my 1/1 toy to worry much avout model cars I plan to retire this fall...so maybe it will change
  20. Real 300 ? As far as I know. They were only avail in 3 colors, Black, red and white
  21. I REALLY wish you could find someone to duplicate these in resin. I'll take 2 sets NOW
