aquatic Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 This is my first scale model finished this year. I was always wanted to build, becouse it is one of iconic cars. With this AMT scale model I had a lot problems to fit it together. So I named it "Cursed Dorothy". Anyway, I hope you like it.
Draggon Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Very nice! Those Lazy Modeler flame masks are great, you did a wonderful job with them
Jantrix Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Excellent! I love the fact that it's not chopped. Well done.
KeithJackson Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Love the black paint. It shows that not every paint job has to be super shiny.
Helix Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Nice work, lots of detail and how about a photo of the engine, looks as though you put a bit of effort into it
Sledsel Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Very sharp looking Merc. As Keith says... they do not all need to be shiny. Where were your fitment issues? Have built this in the past and my only issue was the deck lid. Easy solution is to trim the "hinge" area of the interior tub, glue hinge to deck lid, install a plastic tube snugly between the hinges, tape deck lid and glue tube in place.
DeeCee Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Very nicely done, and i too love the paint and flames.
W-409 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Very good looking Mercury Custom. These '49 Mercs are seen quite often so it's not easy to come up with something different. But with un-chopped top and those flames, this is definitely something different. Usually I'm not a fan of flat paint jobs on these things, but I think it works perfectly in here. Great job.
1930fordpickup Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Looks great , I also love the unchopped Mercury .
Sixties Sam Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Very cool Merc! The flames are great. Good work! Sam
om617 Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Really cool custom. Only thing missing is the flames shooting out the exhaust
'70 Grande Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Everybody loves those flames, (...actually, I do, too), but I think those tailights are really terrific! Beautiful build!
