Mr mopar Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 When do we start to see third quarter stuff from Revell/ Round2?
mikemodeler Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 considering we are one month into the second quarter, I would guess it is going to be at least another month or two. There are still some first quarter releases that haven't made it to the shelves.
Matt T. Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Typically, for announcements, the first month of the preceding quarter has been when Revell announces their releases (January, October, July, April). So yeah, it's time to see what July - September holds for Revell.
High octane Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Hopefully, not 'til I finish ALL my other unbuilt model kits.
Greg Myers Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) Yeah , me too. and before the mods find this, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=100648&hl= Edited April 30, 2015 by Greg Myers
Greg Myers Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 but let's not get too far ahead of our own selves. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=101327 one might be confused as a "COLLECTOR".
slusher Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Hopefully, not 'til I finish ALL my other unbuilt model kits. Don't know what you have Nick but my small stash will never get completely built... I always look forward to the kit announcements. There are a bunch of kits in the coming soon section on the Model Roundup site...
Drake69 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Man.... I've just got to have SOMETHING to build!!!! (Pay no attention to the dresser drawers underneath... or the racks above them.... or the old toy box in the corner...)
pharoah Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Yeah,I've still got kits from the 80's I haven't built yet.
ZTony8 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 80s?Heck,I've got unbuilt kits from the 50s that I inherited from my Dad & Grandfather.
fseva Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 80s?Heck,I've got unbuilt kits from the 50s that I inherited from my Dad & Grandfather. I'd be interested to see photos of this old stuff... please!?
Jon Cole Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 What's the '53 Corvette tie-in with The Stig? Is there a figure of Stig with the kit?
Roadrunner Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I'd be interested to see photos of this old stuff... please!? Me too.
mike 51 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 What's the '53 Corvette tie-in with The Stig? Is there a figure of Stig with the kit? This seems like someone's idea of a joke....perhaps a fairly expensive one at that.
TonyK Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I see nothing in the description saying there is a figure in the kit. If you read the front of the box carefully you'll see the car was featured on the Top Gear show. If this is, in fact, the actual model box they are selling, I don't like all the references to The Stig, BBC Top Gear, etc. I can see a lot of buyers "assuming" there's something more to this kit than just a model of the '53 Corvette.
Draggon Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Looks like Stig's vette is actually a kit. http://www.fantasyworldhobbies.com/new-items/new-model-kits/amt-top-gear-1953-corvette-1-25-scale-model-car-kit-amt910/
Rob Hall Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Weird.. I don't recall ever seeing a '53 Corvette on TG...hmmm. Edit: .it says 'Top Gear USA'....do they have a Stig? I've seen a few episodes of the US show, but thought it was pretty stupid. Edited May 3, 2015 by Rob Hall
niteowl7710 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 The box art the kit is actually released in is an almost exact duplicate of the original. As Mike points out someone made up that faux box (or maybe there was an idea to do that at one point), but it was good enough to "fool" Tower Hobbies, who has since corrected back to the actual box art. FWIW the Round2 & Auto World websites never had the Stig laden box art posted.
Fat Brian Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 In the first few episodes of TG USA they did have a Stig character and had celebrities race around a track but that stopped and it was just the three guys doing whatever thing they decided to do.
martinfan5 Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 In the first few episodes of TG USA they did have a Stig character and had celebrities race around a track but that stopped and it was just the three guys doing whatever thing they decided to do. They still use the Stig from time to time.
