DRIPTROIT 71
Beautiful cabovers Bill and Seth! Great work! Juergen, I’m glad to see these builds again! I always enjoy your creations! The Unistar has a my favorite!
DRIPTROIT 71
I really like this thread! Of course I like cabovers! I’m really glad that this was brought back. I’ve posted some on here before, but most of them got swallowed up by the Flicker down size. Here is a few of mine.
Kromolly
What an amazing collection of gorgeous trucks. Brian, that P.I.E. IH is so cool! I used to see their fleet on the highway all the time, especially back in the '60s, '70s. Juergen, how about some more pictures of that LA County lowboy and dozer? That looks amazing! Doug 1061
This is the first truck model I did after getting back into the hobby, to make up for the one I butchered when I was young 'un. I'm happy with it. Built box stock.
Vettegasser
Here’s mine mostly in progress. Except for the Pete

Very nice, Doug - I built this one almost 40 years ago, and its wheels were too small back then - this one looks much better (look like the former ERTL wheels)
Force
Yes the ERTL tires has a lager diameter and more profile than the old AMT tires...so they are beefier and fill up better, the AMT tires are 10.00-20 and the ERTL tires 11.00-20, the tires in some AMT kits like the White-Freightliner and some other kits are 11.00-22. If I remember right some of these AMT truck kits had 2 piece tires that were really bad. Tires seem to be a weak link with a lot of models. Doug 1061
A couple I built a couple years back. AMT Pete with 1 in frame stretch and tanks from a Freightliner cabover. KW is Revell K100 the last reissue. KW is a nice kit aside from heavy flash on every part. Only build issue was the steer axle, had to make king pin bushings/ pins out of brass so tires would stand up straight. Box stock except for decals from Model Truckin.
