Great look at the kit. I built on a little over 10 years now (maybe?). It's a very nice kit. They also offered in a GMC at one time. I don't know they still do or not. If I find one, I will buy it and build it. I'd love to have a matching Safari to go along with my Astro.

Where's the engine?

In the Monogram 1/25 Chevy S-10 kit. ;)

Hopefully someday someone will offer an '85-94 version to use with this kit. ^_^

Is that because you want to build one you have/had

Entirely possible. ^_^ I owned a '90 for a few years before I bought my current '95, but the Astro/Safari M-vans have always had nice (mid-size) proportions to my eyes, and the only other close option is the thick, resin Jimmy Flintstone slammer.

Just buy a 95-05 version and then you could build it scale form, there, problem solved :D

Growing up, my family had a 92 Safari. What a great van. I'd certainly build one if someone came out with a resin front clip.

The good news is the lower body cladding from the '96+ are separate parts, so the body shell is mostly useable for a pre-'94, but the interior is all '96+ so the dash, door panels, seats, steering wheel, etc. would all need to be changed for an '85-'95. I don't recall if Fujimi ever released a 2WD version, but the suspension parts in this AWD version are curbside accurate, so some donor parts could be taken from the Monogram '93 S-10 for an AWD version if you want more accuracy and if the scale difference is negligible.

There were like a half dozen variations to this tooling including GMCs as mentioned, and 2wd versions. However at the moment only this one is currently in the Fujimi catalog.
