Harry P. Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 If you know the source of the photo don't post that info here! It ruins the game for everyone else. So what do you think? Real or model? The answer: REAL!
Belugawrx Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 I voted model,...so that means it's probably real,.... I don't know, just something in that forced perspective background,.... Beauty car either way!
Zandmann Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Things to consider, I've got my answer locked. Tough one.
dw1603 Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Still on holiday in France, enjoying ridiculously expensive and deathly slow mobile internet access. Can't afford the time or the Euros to research this one properly, so I'm going to say model.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Yeah, I'd say real. I have reasons. Let's see if they're good reasons.
LaughingIndian Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Everything looks like a toy except the worn discs ... I say real
Russell C Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Really modelly. A model of realness. Or something...
Art Anderson Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Real car, for many reasons which I will not enumerate just now. Art
Matt Bacon Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 The car's real. It's just parked in front of a giant Playmobil mansion with plastic flowers... bestest, M.
Josh Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 The what appears to be a kangaroo hanging out in the window strikes me as being a very well executed model.
Harry P. Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Pretty close vote... 23 REAL, 20 MODEL. And the answer is... REAL!
otherunicorn Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 For me, those disc brakes were too real for it to be a model. Tire sag, and the clarity of the reflection also said 'real' to me.
Jantrix Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 For me, those disc brakes were too real for it to be a model. Tire sag, and the clarity of the reflection also said 'real' to me. Yep I agree. However there were a number if issues that had me doubting. The windshield doesn't look like the stock materials or angle. No vent windows either. No examples I saw online had the red reflectors in the wheel centers. I'm thinking its some sort of Corvette based kit car.

bobthehobbyguy Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 I always look at door lines and the tires which in case made me think real.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 I always look at door lines and the tires which in case made me think real. Exactly. And the reflections in the glass, and the dangly bits under the car.
Russell C Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Couldn't resist tempting Harry with this one, a still-ongoing ebay auction for a "Rowley/Sturtevant Daytona GTC". Not sure what kind of photography technique the guy was using, but a couple of the other pics make it look way more model-like.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Yup...the road surface looks kinda like fabric, the tire sidewall bulges don't really show, the soft-focus-poor-depth-of-field image...all make it look model-like.
