bhop73 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Hi guys, i'm new here. I build all types of models, sometimes cars. I finished this one a couple days ago.. I usually post stuff at Automotiveforums model section, but it's nice to share to other forums as well. I built this for my girlfriend, who's a fan of this car. The license plates kinda match her current car plates.. just a little explanation there.. heh, heh.. I just went with the Euro look because I forgot to fill the holes for the kit plates and an American plate wouldn't cover them Fujimi kit with aftermarket wheels, and photoetch brakes, with a few other photoetch bits here and there. Baremetal foil on the chrome parts. I had a lot of issues while building it, some fitment, mostly paint problems, so it feels pretty good to complete it. http://www.bhop73.com/modelpage.php Here's an interior pic.. from before I finished the body
Stray Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Man that is a really nice and clean build. You made an ugly little half car look good! Well done bud.
sjordan2 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Really outstanding. I don't know how you can get such clean results for a teeny car in a small scale.
Speedfreak Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Nice looking build Brandon. Are those the kit tires?
bhop73 Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Really outstanding. I don't know how you can get such clean results for a teeny car in a small scale. Lots of cursing. lol.. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.
bhop73 Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Nice looking build Brandon. Are those the kit tires? The tires are leftovers from an old kit. Maybe an integra.. not sure, I had them in my spares box. The wheels are from Hobby Design, but didn't come with tires.
Speedfreak Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 The reason I asked is because the tires look really meaty, but , good.
bhop73 Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 Here are a couple comparison shots with the kit's wheels/tires.
Speedfreak Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Wow, the kit tires are even bigger! The ones you used look just right.
robertw Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Nice build and a very sharp look for this, somewhat ugly, little car.
Twokidsnosleep Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) Cool build I have always liked the TV commercial for the convertible version of this car Edited June 10, 2015 by Twokidsnosleep
Foxer Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 VERY good looking build .. these hot little cars deserve it!
SCI-FI Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I scoffed at the title; "Why would I click to see a model of a Fiat Abarth?" Alas, I'm glad I clicked. Awesome build, very clean finish.
