otherunicorn Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) Those of you who voted model because it looked real should have stuck with your gut instinct. As the bulk of players voted, it is indeed a real car. http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/1207phr-1966-ford-mustang/ Edited October 9, 2015 by otherunicorn
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Real. Metal looks highly polished, panels fit right, hood looks thin, wheels that I haven't seen in scale before. Even paint, no foil lines, light green windshield tint...
mikemodeler Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I went with Real, cuz if it is a model, it is a very well executed one with great details.
sjordan2 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) Real. Metal looks highly polished, panels fit right, hood looks thin, wheels that I haven't seen in scale before. Even paint, no foil lines, light green windshield tint...I'll say real, too, but for all the reasons above it looks so heavily retouched that it becomes original art. In that case, it would be neither real nor model. Maybe a Photoshop fantasy. Edited October 5, 2015 by sjordan2
dimaxion Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Real ..I have a 50/50 Chance of being right .. Thanx ..
Ryan S. Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I'm saying real, but there is a real photoshop look to the picture. Cool car though.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Real, for all the reasons listed above. The fine details are just too crisp and clean...unless it's in 1/8. And it does look p-shopped to me too.
horsepower Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) Real and I ain't sayin' why I think so But I do like the red better. Edited October 6, 2015 by horsepower
otherunicorn Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Maybe we should call this "real, model or photoshop"!
matthijsgrit Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) Does "Digital model" count? But my vote is a well argued "Real" Edited October 6, 2015 by matthijsgrit
dw1603 Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Well everything about it looks real, so based on that, I've voted model.
Harry P. Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Maybe we should call this "real, model or photoshop"!No, Photoshop illustrations aren't allowed in ROM. It has to be an actual photo of either a real car or a model.
peteski Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 The picture doses have a look of a computer-generated image. Since it is not Photoshopped but rendered from some sort of CAD drawing, would that make it a model? Otherwise it is a strangely looking photo of a real car.

I have not used any CAD model, or image that has been extensively photoshopped. I suppose some touch-up may have occurred, but from where I got it, I believe the "photoshop look" to be a direct effect of the lighting used.
Lunajammer Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I look forward to the source being cited on this on Friday, because it's got all the markings of CG rendering. If it's a model, to my eye it's been deceptively altered so I'm going real.
otherunicorn Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 It's real, folks. Yes, most of you got it right.
sjordan2 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) I think Hot Rodding magazine probably digitally removed sponsor stickers (copyright issues?) after they shot the car in the studio, and that's why it has such a Photoshopped look. Here's how it looked at the 2011 SEMA show. And if you compare the interior shots between the link in post #1 and the one below, it looks like the magazine also deleted the logo on the driver's seat. http://mustangsdaily.com/blog/2011/11/03/sema-2011-filip-trojaneks-1966-widebody-mustang-race-car/ Edited October 9, 2015 by sjordan2
horsepower Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) I'm surprised that anyone who pays any attention to SEMA shows would have missed this, I guess not all modelers are that interested in new ideas for a different build. Edited October 10, 2015 by horsepower
