Roadrunner Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Very nifty. I have a buddy that will really get a kick out of this.
doggie427 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I cannot ever remember seeing a nicer built example of this kit.
Speedfreak Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 VERY cool! Nicely done Dann. Really Nice job on the chrome, and , the purple and gold is awesome.
Greg Pugh Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Knocked this one out of the park! That's fantastic!
58 Impala Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Very cool, nice added detail. I posted one I built a while back, always liked that car.
gtx6970 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I like it,I have one I keep thinking I need to go ahead and build it for a slump buster
angelo7 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Scarily good build. From The Munsters TV show, of one my favorite shows. Your build here was featured in the episode titled: "Hot Rod Herman".
Danno Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Yep. Very nice. Probably the best example of this model I've seen.
DumpyDan Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Well done, the detail and the pictures are very nice
Dave Ambrose Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Very nice indeed. Did you drill out the pipes, or fabricate new ones from tubing? If you did drill them out, how did you do it? I've had a lot of problems drilling "baloney tip" pipes.
Dann Tier Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Thanx, guys! First off, Dave, I scratch built those organ pipes, but I have drilled them out before on another one. First I find the center of the elliptical tip, then I carefully make an indent with a straight pin. Next I start drilling at an angle away from the peak of the pipe, and as I drill, I slowly move the bit upright until it drills straight down the pipe. DONT use too small of a bit at first, or it may SNAP! To finish it off, I take a new blade, and carefully ream-out the end. hope this helps! -Alan, the rear tires came out of the Revell Big John 41 Willys kit. thanx for the interest guys!
mrindy77 Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Funky ride....the ornate detail on the coffin would definitely benefit from some different shades of gold and brown wash to really make the detail pop.
