Eric Macleod Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Yup, a rare resin transkit body for a Franklin Mint '34 Packard Dietrich. Maybe I can make a '32 Phaeton out of the scrap. Oh well.
Rob Hall Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I have tiny teeth marks on an once-mint MPC '68 Bonneville hood, where one of my Yorkies grabbed it off my desk and ran around the house with it a few years ago.
Tom Geiger Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Did he swallow he rest of the pieces?then you can get them back tomorrow!
Mike Chernecki Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Ouch! I came home one day to find my mint amt 1962 Nova Convertible and sealed KISS van all chewed into tiny bits.
1930fordpickup Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 This is why I have fish. If a body falls in the tank they just swim around it.
Dave Van Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 The wifes 'puppy' (9 months old Newfoundland) is 100 lbs and acts like a toddler.......no sense of how big.....or where....or any idea of what she is doing. A good guard dog for sure......but a huge lummox!!!
Eric Macleod Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 I don't have all the pieces and am fairly certain that I don't want them in the future! I appreciate all the comiseration.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 This is why I have fish. If a body falls in the tank they just swim around it. ...unless you have piranhas...
Rob Hall Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Perhaps the description that sums it up best is 'I live in a madhouse ruled by a tiny army I made myself'...I've seen that applied to memes applied to dogs and toddlers. Living w/ 6 dogs (albeit dogs that weigh less than 60lbs total) is challenging at times, but very rewarding...I've enjoyed my experiences w/ dog rescues..
LDO Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I wouldn't trade Lady, my black lab, for anything. Thankfully, she never chewed things that she wasn't supposed to.
fractalign Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 When I was kid, one of our dogs chewed through a couple of my model plane kits, I had forgotten how destructive they are.
disabled modeler Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Our dog got a hold of a mint 64 T-bird HT promo...now I have to repair the trunk it has teeth holes in it...my nephew accidentally left my build room door open for awhile.
Eric Macleod Posted January 19, 2016 Author Posted January 19, 2016 This one was chewed at the "hands" of my son's newly acquired Golden Doodle. Nice dog but very much of a puppy.
espo Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Never had that problem with our 110 Lb. Yellow Lab. Always made sure he had lots of those rawhide chew sticks from Pets Smart. Dogs are just like a five year old trapped in those furry little bodies.
Belugawrx Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 He doesn't come in the room ,...until I turn on the compressor,..... He hears a frightened heart beat ... and needs to find the animal attached
Scott Colmer Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Yep. Been there too a long time ago. It was an out of production USA 1 Vega kit kit turned pro street that was a few pieces away from being finished. When I think about it now, I probably could have fixed it if happened now. It was chewed on the front corner but not destroyed. Instead it got gutted for parts. Hosted on Fotki Then there was the time my girlfriend's cat sprayed my collection. Eww. Scott
Tom Geiger Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I never had any model car / dog mishaps. There was the time when my five year old daughter went into the model room and poured an entire bottle of CA glue into an interior tub that was sitting on the bench.
Scott Colmer Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 That's a good one, Tom. I remember showing my kids how to build a model and the panic that set in when my oldest CA'd his fingers together. But that's another thread.

Tom Geiger Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Just be glad she didn't drink it. absolutely! I started locking the model room after that incident
MrObsessive Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Cats can be just as bad! Years ago, my 22 lb. orange Tabby decided to take a leap on top of my dresser drawer. Just so happens that a '58 Studebaker Golden Hawk that I had finished a few years earlier was in a case on top of the dresser. Well, they say that cats always land on their feet-------well almost! Kitkat missed his "landing spot" on the drawer, and ended up toppling the model over in its case, wrecking the hood. Needless to say, I was FURIOUS and the cat had the nerve to take off and hide for the next several hours. Knowing cats though, it was probably out of embarrassment, and not that I was terrifically angry at him!
Tom Geiger Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Needless to say, I was FURIOUS and the cat had the nerve to take off and hide for the next several hours. Cat was probably scared silly! And for good reason. You are a big guy Bill!
Eric Macleod Posted February 5, 2016 Author Posted February 5, 2016 My five year old is never a problem. She can't wait to start model making. Any suggestions on a good model to start with? We have no cats!
