mrmike Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 This is my Revell '49 Merc Woody painted with Testors Mythical Maroon and Model Master Wood on the body with Model Master Dark Tan for the interior. The front suspension has been lowered. I used chrome bumperettes for the visor supports, changed the wheels to chrome reverse wheels from the Monogram '69 Charger Daytona, changed the rear taillights, and added a license plate frame.
TooOld Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Very nice Mike , the paint and the wood look great ! (Nice license plate too !)
espo Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Looks outstanding. The extra details like the license plate and the plug wires really bring it to life.
bbowser Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 Great model, the wood looks real. Nice dash detailing as well.
sjordan2 Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Terrific. The detail on the dash is outstanding, and so is the woodwork -- perfectly subtle.
mrmike Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) Thank you guys! peekay, yes I did clear coat the wood using the same gloss clear that I used on the rest of the model. I used Testors Wet Look Clear. Edited June 21, 2016 by mrmike
Roncla Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 She is a real looker. Everything just looks right. Well done.
showrods Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Great job. I'm not familiar with this kit - I assume that the paint on the wood trim is the Model Master Wood but what colour are the "wood" panels or are they stickers/decals? Tx!
gtx6970 Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 the 40s cars typically aren't my thing....... But WOW.I really like this one a lot and I think I'll just have to get one for myself .
MrBuick Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Great job. I'm not familiar with this kit - I assume that the paint on the wood trim is the Model Master Wood but what colour are the "wood" panels or are they stickers/decals? Tx!The kit comes with a pretty nice set of decals for the wood panels.
