novadose71 Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 I can hardly wait till the end of May. Thanks for posting this. I will be following closely.
Chuck Kourouklis Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Roger that! That's HOT, guys! Thanks for posting it. Can't wait for Bill's commentary.
Nate Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Thanks for posting these Len! This thing is gonna be awesome! So many possibilities and kit bashing opportunities!
Mike Chernecki Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Looks great. I like what they did with the interior tub and chassis. Can't wait!!
Len Carsner Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks for posting these Len! This thing is gonna be awesome! So many possibilities and kit bashing opportunities! Thank you for posting them so they can be seen without downloading. Can you explain to me how to do that? Bill is starting the buildup of the Nova so there are a LOT more pictures coming!
kingiguana Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I cant wait for this one. I only wish the hood was flat and the "scoops" sat on top like the real thing. I can see recesses where the scoops go. A flat hood would be great for a base version. Also I hoping the SS emblem on the grill is a separate piece along with the black rubber SS panel between the tailights is also separate. And how about a bench seat? maybe a resin caster will come through. After all it would be nice to do a 6 banger or a 307 V8 version, with dog dish hup caps, or even full wheel covers. Kinda like the car grandma had. Model companies always make the SS or the GT verison of cars hardly ever the base vesions. And it would be so easy for them to add a few extra parts to make them in various versions. Some photo etched emblems, and or decals. I now I'm probably dreaming. But no matter what I love Novas I've had a few, all six bangers though, but still cool. In any case its gonn kicks the old AMTs rear end.
Luc Janssens Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I cant wait for this one. I only wish the hood was flat and the "scoops" sat on top like the real thing. I can see recesses where the scoops go. Most likely they did it this way due to the thickness of the scoops, meaning they would stick out too much if it were to be a flat hood, besides this way they're always positioned in the correct way. If you really wish to have a flat hood then, fill the recess with some left over sheet plastic and some putty, it's not that hard, I did it with the '68 Firebird and it came out great. Luc
Tom Kren Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Im going to need a couple of those!!! whens the due date again?
Bluzboy66 Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Can hardly wait for this one. Loooooong time Nova fan here, having had a '65, '76, and my grandmother's old '73, which I still own. Now, as for the kit.....is it just me, or is that grill slanted just a bit too much? Mike
Lyle Willits Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 The '69 Novas are now due to ship on June, 27, 2008. I got this info yesterday from a major kit distributor and saw his print-out from Revell.
number 3 Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I am in for at least 2 , I see a yenko nova in my future , in rally green. and will have to build a kit of my buddies drag car. oh yeah bring it on!
RJWood Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 I think Revell deserves a BIG WOOOO HOOOOO! for there efforts on this. They just continue to be the industry leader in New Plastic car kits. All the new kits over the last 6 months have been wonderful. With the building options, and excelent engraving. What more could we want? .....well a few more re-issues of some of there classics would be nice....But I'm very happy with the current kits, and the state of the hobby at this point. Build On! Ron
Billy Kingsley Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 That looks very nice! I can't wait to lay my hands on one of them. There's a local car I want to semi-model, it's got a white body and pearlescent light stripes on the back. it's a later body style but I am not picky, I will use this kit to replicate it. It's a custom version as well. I can also see a factory stock one in metallic blue coming from me at some point as well. Thanks for posting and welcome to the board, Len!
RyanSilva Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 I cant wait, im buying every one i see at my hobby shop, then resort to online.. i can build 3 dozen examples of novas..omegas,venturas, apollo! ahh i cant wait. I def want to do a omega (one of my 1:1) and helen gibbs 427 copo.

lordairgtar Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I am so buying this one. I need to make some Novas! Looking to do an Apollo. I saw one with a 350 Buick engine in it, so cool.
VW Dave Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Im going to need a couple of those!!! You took the words right out of my mouse, Tom.....they can't land at my LHS soon enough IMO.
gto guy Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 That sounds real good to me also. It looks like a very well tooled kit !!!
Maliburacr Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Thanks for posting the preview, at lease now we know what to expect, plus we can start collecting kitbash and A/M parts for them. The engine looks to be straight out of the 69 Camaro kit, as it should be. Glad they left the back seat seperate too, saves me a lot of work.
Rob Hall Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 The '69 Novas are now due to ship on June, 27, 2008. I got this info yesterday from a major kit distributor and saw his print-out from Revell. Ah, nice..just in time for my birthday. Sweet.
Gregg Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Sorry guys, I had changed the attachment settings for images. When the board was slow, I thought some tweaking would help it out Images can be posted in threads now, instead of download links. Didn't do anything for speed. I will have to do a fundraiser to get monies to run forum on separate server with the database.
Maliburacr Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Here's what my first one will look like, I've owed my engine guy a build of his old SSer.
Len Carsner Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 Check out the "On the Workbench" forum for the buildup of the Nova kit. I posted the first of Bill's pictures last night showing the engine going together. Next set will be later in the week, probably of the chassis and drive train. And I figured out how to post pictures the proper way, so no more downloading to see them.
