cobraman Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Finished this one up yesterday. Parts box wheels and tires.427 engine from a Revell Cobra kit. Modified the chassis some to lower the suspension. Fender exhaust dumps. Colors are Flaming Orange and Da Ja Blue followed by a couple of decals and some clear. Two mirrors are included in kit but have yet to be painted and installed. As always comments pro or con are welcome.
bbowser Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Looks like a nice little kit, well done. Did you remove the front fenderwells or are they not in the kit?
bobthehobbyguy Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Nice work. Nice and clean. Color choices are good.
mustang1989 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Like the color choices and the idea Ray. I really like these small cars like this with a big motor. Nice work bud.
cobraman Posted September 8, 2016 Author Posted September 8, 2016 Thank you guys and yes I did remove the fender wells.
Jmaracing Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Cool looking build Ray. Looks ready for the strip!!
wayne swayze Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Good looking car! Like the big motor and the choice of wheels.
Tom Geiger Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Lookin good Ray! I will be building mine stock and light commercial. When I was growing up (well, nearly grown up!) Matty's Auto Parts in Matawan, NJ ran a fleet of Pinto wagons as parts delivery vehicles. All different colors, wood siding painted over if it had it, and their name and phone number stenciled on, the length of the car. I can still see them in my head!
cobraman Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Thank you all. It's a nice little kit with no problem areas .
BradD81 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Nice, looking forward to building that one. Interesting color combo, not one I would have picked, but it works!
cobraman Posted September 10, 2016 Author Posted September 10, 2016 Thanks Brad. I was never sure of the colors working because I am partially color blind. Wife wasn't home to guide me when I painted this one.
crazyjim Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Looking good in SHINY . You're knocking them out pretty quick, Ray.
Dann Tier Posted September 11, 2016 Posted September 11, 2016 This is one tough little Pinto! Outstanding job on this build!!
