Some people on the forum might know Mike Dowd. He's done articles, had builds published and was a great modeler. He lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer Saturday morning

Though I can't place his work, his name sounds familiar. Sorry to hear it. Pancreatic cancer is a tough one. I've lost several people close to me to it.

Built a lot of Mopar models and had a line of decals

Everytime I see a thread that just has a person's name as the title, I cringe.

Very sorry to hear about Mike's passing, he was a pillar of the modeling community.  My condolences to his friends and family.

Thoughts and prayers for his family! I've known him since the Auto Modelers Group in Milwaukee was founded. Great guy and always eager to promote the hobby. He was instrumental in the founding of the Milwaukee NNL, a contributor to the modeling magazine's and almost always at all the local shows and swaps. As with anyone here in our community it is indeed a great loss.

It was sad to hear the news of Mopar Mike Dowd's passing as he was a good family man, great friend, and excellent model builder as well. I've known him for many years and I know that he will be missed by many including myself. R.I.P.

Every time I hear of someone who has died of cancer, I get chills. It sort of hits home and makes me wonder why some make it and some don't. I hope Mike's family is at peace. We know that he is.

I've followed his work for a while but did not know that he was fighting cancer. Very, very sorry to hear this and my prayers go out to his family and friends.          Jeff

I know I met Mike many years ago at some of the shows in the Milwaukee area. Nice guy to talk with and a wealth of information on all things Mopar.

Sorry to hear of his passing and prayers to his family.

I am so sorry to hear about Mike. It's another sad story about cancer. Too many people are dying from cancer. When I first started teaching at a nuclear plant, we told the students that the cancer rate was 1 out of every 4. That lesson plan has been revised to reflect the new statistic. It's 1 out of every 3 now and on average, incrementally rising each year. I've had cancer all around me in my family and friends. Pure and simple, it's the environment. We're slowly poisoning ourselves to death.

Mike will be truly missed by all who knew him, a brilliant builder of Mopar vehicles and a wonderful person to talk "car" with. A sad loss indeed.
