Opened up the vents behind the coves, and finished up the wheel-arch lip detail molding...

Then got both sides in primer. Not quite perfect yet, but getting pretty close. Need to smooth out the curve over the cove, and tighten up the hood fit.

Great work, Bill! Thoroughly enjoyed scanning through the project. I always liked the modified-sport Vette that inspired you. To some people cars are just raw material. It's what you do with them that counts.

Now that the weather's getting decent to paint outdoors again, I figgered I'd put her up on her wheels to give myself a little inspiration....but somewhere along the line I misplaced the decklid. No worries. I took the mold to the big-car shop where all my epoxy fiberglass stuff is at the moment and made another one.

Next trick is to get the hood fitting a little better, then block everything again, and shoot her all in white primer.

Rear axle needs a little adjustment to get the slicks dead center in the cutouts. This is disturbing, and I don't know where it crept in.

Oh well.

I’m predicting that this one might actually make it into the “finished” category this year.
or at least off the primer table.

This kit was altered badly in 1967. The separated headlight bezels were removed by AMT so I mated the Revell 1959 for a better front end. I cut in back of the doors but you choice of cut gave very good result as well.

Well-built and well-researched is always a winner. Even better when it looks this good!

Thanks for giving this one a bump, gennelmen. There's actually a chance I might work on it this coming weekend. I'd really like to at least get it in paint soon, and it's close to ready at this point. A little fine bodywork, and a coat of white primer...

I need to use up the leaking cans of Testors Fiery Orange metallic (or is it Flaming Orange?) pretty soon too.  ;)

Yes, I looked at using a Revell nose, but the Revell kits are so nice I really didn't want to cut one up.  :)

The nose I used worked out well enough to represent a repopped body with molded-in headlight blisters, and it had absolutely no other value to me.

Today my wife went for a ten mile walk and in the meantime I read this whole thread, very entertaining and educational.

Thanks for your interest and comment.

I really need some R&R, this one is actually still on the bench, so maybe I'll do something to it this weekend.  :)
