Karlito Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Hello, this is my first post and I wanted to share the Streamline resin Mach 5 kit I just completed. Hope y'all enjoy it!
cobraman Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Looks like you did a fine job with this kit.
Dragline Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Seriously nice first post. That thing is slick. Welcome to the forums.
Rider Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) That is very cool looking, nice work. The best looking version of that car in my humble opinion. Makes me want to build one. Welcome aboard. Edited December 6, 2016 by Rider
Karlito Posted December 6, 2016 Author Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the kind words! It started life as a damaged assembled kit I purchased off Ebay, so it has come a long way. Was the first kit I have built in 14 years and will be gifted to my father. The car has very extensive body modifications and custom made parts, such as the wheels and rear-view mirror to make it as true to the show as I could. Eventually I will build another for myself, but I want to build the remaining 3 kits in the set first (already started on the Shooting Star). Edited December 7, 2016 by Karlito
droogie Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I have no idea what the model is supposed to represent, but it sure looks cool just the same.
D. Battista Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Missed this one... Awesome !!! Go Speed Racer Go...!!!
afx Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Watch Speed Racer religiously after school. Nice build.
MrObsessive Posted January 7, 2017 Posted January 7, 2017 Very, very nice build! This was my FAVORITE cartoon when I was kid! I'm still a fan of the show and in fact, I have all 52 episodes on my laptop. I've always wondered if Tatsuo Yoshida (creator of the cartoon) was a big fan of Ferrari as this looks all the world to me like a customized '57 Testarossa!
Deathgoblin Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 This is beautiful. Very nice job. I love the Mach 5
Tom Geiger Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Fantastic job! I would've killed for that kit when I was 11!
Dave42 Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Very cool. Nice work, and a smooth looking paint job.
Karlito Posted January 8, 2017 Author Posted January 8, 2017 Thanks for the compliments guys!I will be sure to post the Shooting Star 9 when I have it completed as well.
