Ramfins59 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I just got off the phone with Jerry Koszut of Resin Realm. I called to inquire if one of his kits was available, which I am ordering. Jerry advised that he will be closing up the business as he is getting on in years and has developed Emphysema and Congestive Heart Failure due to the many years of working in the resin business. He will soon be listing his "close-out inventory" on the website and also will be listing some stuff on EBAY. He also mentioned that the person who used to do his chrome plating has passed away, so the kit items that were normally chrome plated are now not plated. I thought I'd pass this information on to everyone so they might still be able to get some of Jerry's stuff before it's all gone. Seems like the resin "void" in this hobby just keeps growing...
espo Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Thank for the heads up. I'll have to check and see if I need anything of his.
1930fordpickup Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 The same is happening in the Classic Car World. They are also worried about who is taking over.
gtx6970 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Seems like the resin "void" in this hobby just keeps growing... I've noticed this in the 1/1 world as well. Guys are getting older. and not nearly as many youngsters with the same wants/desires.
Greg Myers Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 how about an active link to these two casters ?
keyser Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 (edited) Google is your friend. And it's only one caster. Greg, you usually find stuff. http://www.resinrealm.net/Unclescott just waits for someone to google it for him. http://bfy.tw/9sv2 Edited February 4, 2017 by keyser

Misha Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Thanks for the heads up Richard! Had a look a their offerings and plan on getting an order in quick. The various Ford wagons are very cool and would make for great support vehicles for vintage drags.Cheers Misha
Bill J Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Just ordered a kit a few months ago, great guy to deal with, I am sure RR will be greatly missed. I better look to see if there is something I need ASAP.
Tom Geiger Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Resin Realm - Wasn't he just a reseller of R&R? At one point I think I remember Eddie Fluck providing him with models from his father's old molds (F&F).
DrKerry Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 That's the kit that I ordered from Jerry. Not sure I know who Jerry is??
Ramfins59 Posted February 5, 2017 Author Posted February 5, 2017 Not sure I know who Jerry is?? Jerry Koszut is the man who cast the stuff at Resin Realm.
DrKerry Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Jerry Koszut is the man who cast the stuff at Resin Realm.ah that makes sense...

I wasn't even planning on joining in on this conversation until I saw that.Scott
keyser Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/66689-what-did-you-get-today/?do=findComment&comment=174343 That was a QUOTE from you. Not a personal attack. Greg posts a lot of stuff, I answered him. I answered you in another thread, asked you PLEASE search. I've done this many times. Your entitled answer was to wait. It takes LESS TIME to search than it does to complain. You POSTED here because you didn't like my referencing YOUR quote that you obviously had forgotten. Your comments, some similar likes are fine. But sloth and entitlement not so much. Many here are happy to help, moreso when most have tried to help selves first. Get over yourself. Edited February 5, 2017 by keyser
Xingu Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Please keep things civil and on track. This started as a post to let us know that, unfortunately, another caster is shutting down shop.

Rich, Any chance you have Jerry's '57 Dodge Royal Lancer kit? I'd like to get your opinion on it, if you would. Thinking of going for one if it's still available. Thanks!
Rob Hall Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 (edited) Resin Realm - Wasn't he just a reseller of R&R? At one point I think I remember Eddie Fluck providing him with models from his father's old molds (F&F). Yes, he sold R&R (through another reseller--Star Models) and also sold his own resin product under the name Mason City Motors or Mason City Resin previously IIRC, now under the Resin Realm brand.. keyser Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 I've done business with him, and know Steve K. Great guy, will make sure castings are good, even from other casters. Decent prices and great service. Lots of friends in Omaha know him as well. Seems to be expanding into casting as well, but haven't discussed directly with him.

Thinking of going for one if it's still available. Thanks! No Frank, I've never gotten Jerry's '57 Dodge Royal Lancer kit. I did get and build Modelhaus's kit of that car over a year ago. You'd have to call Jerry and ask if his Dodge kit is available.

ChrisBcritter Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I see he has some '60 Fords - hope I can get just the windshield.
vintagercr Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I have sent two emails inquiring about a couple of kit and I have not heard from him. Is it better to call?
