NYNS Franky Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Short story, wanted to do a New York Police car from the 70's as I don't remember this color scheme. Picked up the kit and started doing some research and found a picture of a 1970 Ford police car from the 122pct. That was the local pct. in Staten Island, New York where I grew up. So the markings and numbers are from the actual car. I had to modify the light bar, and center beacon aswell. I also removed the molding from the kit as the ones from NY did not have it. Tamiya rattle can white for the roof and trunk, Scalefinishes NYP Green, and Black raven enamel used for the rest. Cheers!
vamach1 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Nobody would have outrun the cops if they had Boss 429's :-). Very nice build.
RAMBENNA Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 man that is one sweet build , very nice job ....I love it
Curt Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 A beautiful, very clean build, Frank. Man, you really did it right.
Jim B Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Very nice looking NYPD cruiser. Well done. Where did you get the roof siren? I need a couple for a build.
ZIL 111V Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 SUPERB! Surely the nicest AMT 70 Interceptor builtup I've seen. (got to love that exclusive"429").
Mr Stock Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Looks fantastic Frank, that New York police livery must be a paint masking nightmare !!
NYNS Franky Posted April 20, 2017 Author Posted April 20, 2017 Thank you all for the great comments! The roof siren was included in the kit, as was the centre light. I just modified the height to resemble the car I was referring too.
Againmikewins Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 The '70 Ford interceptors are so cool! Great job.
Deathgoblin Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Beautiful job!! I definitely wouldn't want one of these coming up behind me with the lights on.
disabled modeler Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 The '70 Ford interceptors are so cool! Great job. Yes they are..now if we could just get them to re-issue the 70/71 LTD 4 door HT one for us....please..
Againmikewins Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Yes they are..now if we could just get them to re-issue the 70/71 LTD 4 door HT one for us....please.. that would be excellent. I bought the LTD conversion kit from Modelhaus before they shut down. I have never worked with resin before, so I'm nervous to ruin it and not be able to replacements.
