Straightliner59 Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Absolutely beautiful work, JC! It sits just right; Excellent detail. Love this model!
FabbricaP Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Looking great JC. What color did you use on that body?
afx Posted October 26, 2017 Author Posted October 26, 2017 Thanks Brian & Daniel. Jason, body is Tamiya TS-44 Brilliant Blue.
FabbricaP Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 The blue looks great. All your awesome Mopar builds really make me want to finally try my hand at an American muscle car!
gtx6970 Posted October 27, 2017 Posted October 27, 2017 Not to nit pick as I think your doing a bang up job. BUT Are you sure of the color ? TS44 is more like Plymouth Bright Blue poly ( aka B5 ) This car was far darker than B5
Xingu Posted October 28, 2017 Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) If start from the beginning of the thread you will see that JC chose the "alternate" color for the car, based on his reference photos. Edited October 28, 2017 by Xingu
afx Posted October 28, 2017 Author Posted October 28, 2017 (edited) Bill, I'm doing the early team car which was a different color to the dark blue almost purple color most people are familiar with. Edited October 28, 2017 by afx

Ok, Not seen the car in that color before. Every pic I have on file and have seen in person is the real dark blue car. Carry one. PS, If memory serves me right. The rainbow color hooded car is the Swede Savage car correct ? Solid Blue was Dan Gurneys cars ? Edited October 28, 2017 by gtx6970
afx Posted October 28, 2017 Author Posted October 28, 2017 I thought only Swede ran the hood stripes as well but as always seem to be the case there is an exception.
afx Posted March 15, 2018 Author Posted March 15, 2018 (edited) Decals are now available, printed by Cartograf - very nice!www.mikesdecals.com/4248-dan-gurney-trans-plymouth-barracuda-powerslide-243-p-5007.html Edited March 15, 2018 by afx

Looks fantastic. Just waiting for the hood/spoiler to come back in stock. Did they use yours as a master JC?

Did they use yours as a master JC? The decals are impressive. No they didn't use my parts for the resin hood & spoiler David but they look to be based on the same Revellogram kit I sourced mine from. Mr. Metallic Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 So JC, now that you have the decals, does that mean this one is back on the bench? Or are you waiting until you finish your sweet Falcon gasser?
afx Posted March 16, 2018 Author Posted March 16, 2018 Yea Craig I would like to get the gasser wrapped up before I dive back into this one. I also have a handful of other builds in various stages of construction that I really need to finish!

I picked up a Cuda from Michaels a couple weeks ago with a 50% off coupon, decals from Mike's are in, just need the hood/spoiler. I could make my own too, but for $7 I'll pick up the resin one. But that pic of the rollcage and your WiP pics are gonna make it easier to build this.
afx Posted March 16, 2018 Author Posted March 16, 2018 I'll rub it out some Shay, I don't typically clear my builds. Your welcome David, please post your WIP when it gets underway.
Lizard Racing Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 This car was one of my favorite back in the day. Swede Savage was a brilliant driver taken from us too soon.
afx Posted April 2, 2018 Author Posted April 2, 2018 It's going to take awhile but decaling has begun.
jjsipes Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 Been following your build. Has inspired me to do one as well, just need to get the time to do. Looks great.
afx Posted April 4, 2018 Author Posted April 4, 2018 (edited) Thanks Dann & Jason. Decals are finished, just have a few small details to complete before I can post more pictures. Edited April 4, 2018 by afx
