The Monogram Jag XKE, Austin Martin and 250 GTO were all Autoa molds. All the PL 'Aurora' kits were clones of the original molds. It must be that most of Aurora's molds went to Monogram. I say most, because both Polar Lights and Moebuis have reissued Aurora kits from time to time. I don't how this mold sharing thing works? Who actually has the molds? But, didn't MPC at one time also reissue some of Aurora's superhero kits in their boxes too?
Dave Van Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 All Moebius Aurora reissues were cloned tooling....IE copies of old kits. I do not know for sure about the PL but my understanding is they are cloned too.
Sledsel Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 ya know, I am kinda liking those Jolly Roger kits...... Would make some interesting out of the ordinary builds for me.

It was a very fun kit to build. And really like the way it turned out. Edited March 6, 2018 by unclescott58

Snake45 Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 The 1/32 '63 Vette sounds interesting. I think it could find its way into some model airplane dioramas or displays.

While I will agree the Plymouth Prowler wasn't exactly in demand for reissue, I have no doubt the Batman kit will sell well, and I think the 1/16 Honda Hawk might be interesting, too. I'm definitely looking forward to the 1/32 '63 Corvette, even though it's a simplified curbside kit:
echoxrayniner Posted March 18, 2018 Posted March 18, 2018 (edited) i do genuinely wonder what goes on with the selection process, like I know ****-all about it of course, for all I know there's a crowd literally dying for a Prowler re-release but it seriously feels like they're just throwing darts at pictures on the wall. Rob Hall Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 I like the AMT 1/32nd kits---never had any of these before, but I did get my start as a kid with 1/32nd Revell and Lindberg snap kits in the 70s. I have the Avanti, Ranchero and Mustang, looking forward to the Corvette and anything else they reissue in the future...
